Cardinals Arizona Fall League Notebook – October 15, 2022

The Salt River Rafters lost to the Peoria Javelinas on Friday. Masyn Winn singled, walked, stole two bases and scored. Pedro Pages drove in two on a double and threw out a runner trying to steal and Ryan Loutos tossed two perfect innings in relief.

Results from the Arizona Fall League game played Friday, October 14.

Salt River Rafters 4, Peoria Javelinas 6 (seven innings)

St. Louis Cardinals prospect Masyn Winn hit leadoff for the Rafters and played shortstop. In the first inning, Winn drew a walk, stole second base and took third on a wild pitch/dropped third strike. Winn scored on a two-run double by Pedro Pages.

Winn popped out to shallow right field in the second inning. He grounded into a double play in the fourth. Winn singled to left in the sixth. He stole second and advanced to third when the throw from the catcher hit him and went into center field.

Jordan Walker hit third and played in left field. Walker was hit by a pitch in his first plate appearance. In the third inning, Walker reached on an error and advanced to second base. He scored on a home run.

In the fourth Walker grounded out to third. In the seventh and final inning, Walker drew a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch.

Catcher Pedro Pages hit fifth. Pages hit a two run double in the first inning. He flied out to right field in the third. Pages threw a runner out trying to steal in the fourth inning.

In the fifth inning Pages grounded out to third. He flied out to right field in the seventh.

Mike Antico hit ninth and manned center field. Antico struck out swinging in the second. In the fourth, he singled to right field. In the sixth, Antico hit a soft grounder to the pitcher for an out.

Ryan Loutos came in to pitch the sixth and had a 1-2-3 frame on a fly out to right field, a line out to right field and a ground out to the shortstop.

Loutos returned to pitch the seventh. A ground out to short was followed by two strikeouts.

Salt River is 2-9 on the season. They will play the Surprise Saguaros as part of a triple-header at Chase Field on Saturday.
