Cardinals Arizona Fall League Notebook – October 12, 2022

The still-winless Salt River Rafters were blown out by the Glendale Desert Dogs on Tuesday. Masyn Winn walked four times, stole a base and scored. Mike Antico singled and walked. Tink Hence and Ryan Loutos each allowed a run in relief.

The Rafters were blown out at home by the Desert Dogs on Tuesday night. Salt River has yet to win in eight tries in this AFL season. Four Cardinals saw action.

Masyn Winn was the starting designated hitter and batted second. Winn was on base four times and was 0-for-1 with four walks and a strikeout. Winn scored after the third walk in the seventh inning. He also stole his first base of the AFL season.

Mike Antico hit ninth for the Rafters. The center fielder was 1-for-3 with a single, walk, and two strikeouts.

Tink Hence pitched the fifth inning and surrendered a solo home run. He struck out two.

Ryan Loutos pitched the seventh and eighth innings. He gave up one run on four hits, walked one and struck out two. He allowed two hits in the seventh but no runs. In the eighth he relinquished a run on a walk and two singles.

The Rafters are 0-8 on the season.

Wednesday’s game:  vs. Scottsdale Scorpions, Anders Tolhurst RHP (0-1, 27.00) vs. Allan Winans RHP (0-0, 0.00) 8:35 CT.
