Springfield right-hander Gordon Graceffo is the Pitcher of the Month for the Double-A Texas League and Palm Beach righty Hancel Rincón is the Class-A Florida State League’s September Pitcher of the Month.
In three September starts, Graceffo allowed no runs on five hits and two walks with 22 strikeouts over 16 2/3 innings. Opponents were held to a collective .093 average, The 22-year-old saved the best for last, striking out a career-best (tied) nine on September 15.
Graceffo, St. Louis’ fifth-round draft pick in 2021, is The Cardinal Nation’s fourth-ranked Cardinals prospect.
In two starts for a league-high 12 innings last month, Rincon allowed just one run (0.75 ERA) on eight hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. The 20-year-old held opponents to a .190 average.
Rincon, a native of the Dominican Republic, was a free agent signing in 2019.
