The Salt River Rafters fell to the Mesa Solar Sox on Wednesday. Two Cardinals started in the outfield, Jordan Walker and Mike Antico. The former reached base all four times and scored three runs.

Salt River Rafters 8, Mesa Solar Sox 19 (eight innings)
The Salt River Rafters lost their third consecutive game this opening week, this time to the Mesa Solar Sox in a 19-8 contest on Wednesday. Two Cardinals were in the starting lineup for Salt River.
Jordan Walker played in right field and hit cleanup for the Rafters. Walker made four appearances at the plate and was on base all four times and scored three times. He was 1-for-4 with a single, two walks, and three runs scored.
In Walker’s first appearance he reached on an error and scored on a home run. In the third inning, he walked but was caught stealing for the final out. In the fifth, Walker singled to right and again came home on a home run. In his final plate appearance, in the seventh, he drew his second free pass and eventually scored on a bases-loaded walk.
Mike Antico started in center field for Salt River and hit in the eighth spot. He was 0-for-4 at the plate with two strikeouts. Antico popped out in his first appearance in the second inning. He flied out to left in the sixth.
The Rafters are 0-for-3 to open the season.
