The Salt River Rafters fell to the Glendale Desert Dogs in the second game of the AFL season on Tuesday. Three Cardinals saw action, all for the first time: Masyn Winn, Mike Antico, and Ryan Loutos. Winn had a single, two walks, an RBI and run scored.

Salt River Rafters 9, Glendale Desert Dogs 11
The Salt River Rafters were defeated by the Glendale Desert Dogs in an 11-9 contest on Tuesday. Three Cardinals participated, one in the starting lineup.
Masyn Winn started at second base, his first professional game at the keystone, and hit second in the lineup. Outfielder Mike Antico made a pinch running appearance in the fifth and remained in the game in center field. Ryan Loutos pitched two innings out of the bullpen.
Winn had six plate appearances and was on-base three times, going 1-for-4 with an RBI, two walks and a run scored. He walked and scored the Rafters’ first run in the first inning. Winn drew a free pass again in the fourth and singled in the fifth for an RBI. In two other turns at the plate Winn grounded out and struck out. In his final at bat in the ninth he grounded out to first.
Antico entered in the fifth inning to pinch run and scored on Winn’s single. In his two plate appearances, he grounded out and struck out.
Loutos pitched the sixth and seventh innings. The right hander allowed no runs and no hits. He struck out one and walked one.
The Rafters are 0-2 to open the season.
