The St. Louis Cardinals system was 1-1 on Tuesday. All four full season clubs were off. The Player of the Day is DSL Cardinals CF Yordalin Pena, who was 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the Cardinals win over the Angels.

FCL Cardinals 3, FCL Astros Blue 10
The Cardinals (8-12) were trounced by the Astros Blue in a 10-3 contest at Roger Dean Stadium on Tuesday morning. Ljay Newsome, on a rehab assignment started the game but gave up three runs, one earned, while recording only one out.
Benjamin Arias relieved Newsome and surrendered one run in 3 2/3 innings of relief. Alejandro Cervantes allowed three runs in two innings pitched. Johan Quezada hurled a scoreless seventh. Angel Cuenca relinquished one run in the eighth. Americo Lugo gave up three runs, two earned, in the ninth. Newsome took the loss, his first.
The Astros took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The Cardinals cut the lead to 3-1 in the second. Samil De La Rosa began the inning with a double, then scored on a fielding error.
The Astros scored one in the third, one in the fifth, and two runs in the sixth to go up 7-1. The Cardinals responded in the seventh with two runs on an RBI single by Jose Cordoba and a sac fly by Lizandro Espinoza.
The Astros added three more runs to their total, one in the eighth and two more in the ninth.
Cordoba went 2-for-4 with an RBI. De La Rosa was 2-for-4.
On the base paths, Cordoba stole two bases. In the field, Adari Grant made a fielding error. Arias made an error on a pickoff and Cervantes had a throwing error. De La Rosa had a fielding miscue and a throwing error.
Wednesday’s game: Off.
The Cardinals (11-12) beat the Angels 7-4 on Tuesday morning. Juan Salas got the start for the Cardinals. The right hander pitched five innings, gave up two runs on four hits, fanned six and walked two to earn his first win of the season.
Esteban Contreras relieved Salas and surrendered two runs in 1 1/3 innings pitched. Miguel Martinez tossed the final 2 2/3 scoreless inning to earn the save.
The Cardinals took the lead 2-0 in the first inning. Anyelo Encarnacion drew a walk. Yordalin Pena singled, and Encarnacion scored on a throwing error on a pickoff attempt.
The Angels tied it a 2-2 in the top of the second inning. The Cardinals regained the lead 3-2 in the home half of the second on an RBI single by Jonathan Mejia.
The Cardinals added four run to their total in the fifth on a sac fly by Carlos Carmona, a two run double by Elias Reynoso, and a single by Marcelo Perez. The Angels added two in the seventh.
Pena was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Reynoso drove in two.
On the base paths, Reynoso stole his first base of the season. Encarnacion swiped his fifth bag. In the field, Yancel Guerrero made a fielding error.
