Also BSSW+ in Oklahoma and Arkansas and BSSO in TN, KY and MSWe may as well put Carpenter at 3rd and somebody else at 1st. Neither Arenado or Goldschmidt are doing much. Just hope we didnt get stuck with a couple of duds in these two guys. Goldschmidt had been a disappointment since he came over and Arenado is trending in that direction.
Din-din today is a Hungry Man’s rib dinner with mashed potatoes and assorted vegetables. Then a bowl of homemade ice cream. Then it’s off to mow the yard and after that plant some perennials. I’ll probably miss Detroit pounding on us again this afternoon.

Pretty infuriating to turn it on and hear broadcast team talk about how the Cards “FLAT OUT DEVELOP TALENT” while talking about all the guys on different teams haha
Good start and hope we can start to turn things around though!
Norman Avocado gets off the schneid with a wanger in the 2nd. Edman an rbi single in the 3rd. But the Tigers have tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the 3rd and have a runner at 2nd with nobody out.
Back to planting Perennials for me……
Arenado fell asleep there and I really don’t blame him. Who can blame him?! HahaThis team spends a lot of time in the field. Probably the hardest part about watching
Swinging at first or second pitch isn’t working out. May be better to take some longer counts. It may bother this pitcher more than it bothers us.
If I was a pitching coach who was not hired by my current manager and coached a staff that cannot seem to throw strikes with a lead and my team this winter hired an extra, experienced pitching coach with personal history with the manager…

Isn’t this team pathetic to watch right now? Maybe they will eventually snap out of it, who knows. But is there anybody that expected St. Louis to be under .500 at this point of the season???
It’s looking more and more like deJong is heading for the trade block.
Who’s going to trade for him? By OPS+ (OPS indexed to a base of 100), he has fallen from 21% above league average in 2017 to 30% below league average now.

#stlcards are swept by the Tigers and finish the road trip 1-5. The ground they gained in the Marlins series has evaporated and then some behind it. The current trajectory seems untenable and bound to force a correction in some direction or another.

Not really sure why DeJongs playing and Sosa’s not? Carp at first base? Not exactley a power hitter lately? May be better to let some more AAA guys play?

With the exception of Edman, Arenado and Yadi, what we’re looking at here is a bunch of #8 hitters. And that saddens me. Din-din for me tonight was straight out of Rat’s diet book. Fried chicken, macaroni salad, fries, 3 Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies with a couple scoops of Breyers chocolate ice cream atop and a tall glass of Mountain Dew to wash her all down with. I can’t wait until we get Arizona on our own turf…..I smell an actual series win coming our way.
