Palm Beach vs. Jupiter: 11:00 a.m. (plus completion of Tue suspended game)I am going to act like the Cards didn’t play tonight, because they didn’t show up. So I will move on to one of my favorite young players, Leonardo Taveras. He closed out the Peoria win 12-11. 2 shutout innings, he threw strikes, hit 96-97 mph regularly, and struck out 4.
Our pitchers were a bit off their game throughout the organization yesterday. Let’s see here …Palm Beach surrendered 10 runs….. Peoria 11 runs….. Memphis 7 runs….. Springfield 9 runs…..and the big club led the way with 14. We may need one of our math majors here to figure out the grand total…..I come up with a total of 51 runs given up by our pitchers yesterday, but please someone double check my math on this. I’ve seen enough this year. I’m calling on every single one of our pitching coaches to be simultaneously fired by high noon today. And this includes any assistant pitching coaches as well. We can start by immediately hiring Steve Stone to reshape our entire pitching coaching staffs, with him sitting in as our interim pitching coach for our big club.
Nice to see Nunez developing. The 20 year old is now hitting .301 at Peoria. He and Torres at the top of the lineup.
