7:05 p.m.
RHP Carlos Martínez (0-2, 8.40 ERA) vs. LHP Danny Duffy (3-4, 5.01)
ESPN2 // FS Midwest // KMOXSeptember 23, 2020 at 3:40 pm #141441
jj-cf-stlParticipantsneak peak: Ravelo (batting 6th) for Miller at DH vs the lefty Duffy. DeJong returns, Edman to 3B, Carp sits. Same outfield.
September 23, 2020 at 3:45 pm #141442
jj-cf-stlParticipantShildty managing Duffy’s current splits, .519 vs lhb’s, .798 vs rhb’s, with tonights lineup.
Wong batting first as the only starter tonight hitting lefty.September 23, 2020 at 5:01 pm #1414441. Kolten Wong (L) 2B
2. Tommy Edman (S) 3B
3. Paul Goldschmidt (R) 1B
4. Paul DeJong (R) SS
5. Yadier Molina (R) C
6. Rangel Ravelo (R) DH
7. Dexter Fowler (S) RF
8. Dylan Carlson (S) LF
9. Harrison Bader (R) CFSeptember 23, 2020 at 6:23 pm #141449I like that lineup.
Carlos Martinez makes me nervous.
For din-din tonight it’s grilled salmon over a steaming pile of rice pilaf and some broccoli on the side.
Go Cards.
September 23, 2020 at 7:11 pm #141450
jj-cf-stlParticipantI’m full after T-bones from the oven, baked potato, green beans w/bacon, garlic toast and apple sauce and cottage cheese; and your menu still sounds great!
September 23, 2020 at 7:18 pm #141451
jj-cf-stlParticipantPerez is on fire
September 23, 2020 at 7:22 pm #141452Dang, Carlos!
September 23, 2020 at 7:25 pm #141453Tinky & JJ…… with the tremendous din-dins you two concoct, if either of you two were a lady, I’d be down on one knee so quick your head would spin.
I have many solid predictions for this affair, but I came too late to the party. I’d tell you anyway, but don’t want to ruin it for you.
September 23, 2020 at 7:31 pm #141454Get him out of the game!!
September 23, 2020 at 7:31 pm #141455
jj-cf-stlParticipantI can’t make toast Pugs. Was given the duty of preheating the oven tonight, while I was in there pouring a cup of java, and messed up the preheat too. Just passing thru is my kitchen approach.
September 23, 2020 at 7:33 pm #141456
jj-cf-stlParticipantI’m sensing a “word of the day” concerning Martinez, from UConn Card
September 23, 2020 at 7:35 pm #141457I’m with you, JJ.
What’s going on? I’m cruising down I-90 right now by the Wisconsin Dells. Won’t be home watching the action for about another hour, so please keep up with frequent updates….mucho gracious.September 23, 2020 at 7:36 pm #141458We’re going with Chili dogs here, using the homemade chili I put together a couple of weeks ago, here we put the extra in the freezer.
I made mine a Chili-Chile dog, putting one of the roasted Chiles we picked up on Sunday on the dog. A little grated sharp cheddar on top, and it makes me happy enough to not get too upset with Martinez’ bad effort so far.
The trouble with our club is an early three run deficit most likely spells defeat. Win one, lose one; such is life rooting for a .500 club. The 1970s all over again.
September 23, 2020 at 7:38 pm #141459
jj-cf-stlParticipantboy i wish 25 was here to handle this….
1st inning single, then a HR by red hot Perez. 2-0 Royals
Dozier triple and then a RBI single to score him in the 2nd. 3-0 RoyalsSeptember 23, 2020 at 7:43 pm #141460Harry with his Wee Willie Keeler approach, hittin’ ‘em where they ain’t.
September 23, 2020 at 7:43 pm #141461
stlcard25ParticipantNot a great start by Carlos so far. Maybe he’ll settle in. You’d have to believe the offense could score more than 3 runs off Danny freaking Duffy. But this lineup has a way of making mediocre pitchers look good. They don’t have much left in their tank.
September 23, 2020 at 7:44 pm #141462
jj-cf-stlParticipantMolina has a double and Bader a single Pugs, so we’re not being no-hit. So after 3 innings, we’ve sent 10 to the plate and no runs.
September 23, 2020 at 7:53 pm #141463
jj-cf-stlParticipantWe do have Alex Reyes on 4 days rest, but do you burn up the pen, or let Carlos take one for the team?
September 23, 2020 at 7:54 pm #141464
stlcard25ParticipantWell, at 6-0, it’s safe to say that this one is over. Wasn’t a bad pitch, but Perez is doing his best Vlad Guerrero. Might as well burn Carlos out and save the bullpen.
September 23, 2020 at 7:54 pm #141465Took a little nap and had a bad dream. Our lineup was:
K-olten Wrong
Tommy E-five-man
Fall(ing) Gold-price
Paul DeWrong
Yadi-Yadi-Yadi
Rangel Un-raveler
Dexter Foul-er
Dylan K-arlson
Harried Badder (and badder and…)
Cargo (of hits) MartinezSeptember 23, 2020 at 7:55 pm #141466The Cardinals are on pace to give up 18 runs tonight. That seems too familiar.
September 23, 2020 at 8:04 pm #141468
stlcard25ParticipantThe only thing worse than watching the Royals take our lunch is having to listen to Brad Thompson talk about it.
September 23, 2020 at 8:07 pm #141469This team couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
September 23, 2020 at 8:12 pm #1414703-0 was going to be iffy coming back with this lineup, 6-0 is near impossible. Dear front office, this batting line up is pathetic.
