it’s a boring game.
They would rather watch football, soccer, rugby, basketball…………The complexities, the decisions of the game is beyond them.
They want constant action, not suspense.
All these sports are essentially the same:
Soccer: Run up and down the field and kick the ball into the goal.
Football: Run up and down the field and throw or run the ball across the goal line.
Basketball: Run up and down the court and throw the ball into the goal.
Hockey: Skate up and down and hit the puck into the goal with a stick.
Rugby: (Big in France) Run up and down the field and run or kick the ball over the goal line.
Baseball: Ah, how does one score in baseball…Anyone that thinks baseball is boring and yet thinks there is anything even remotely exciting about soccer gets disqualified from the start.
Cricket is boring, baseball is not.
Soccer is the mast boring sport. A great story from my local bar:
A Cardinal fan and friend of mine was bartending while the Cardinals playoff game is on, I think against Houston, when a customer asks for a soccer match to be put on big screen tv My friend behind the bar stated, “Well, I’ve got some bad news for you, the big screen is for the Cardinals game. However, I can change the little tv in the corner if you want.” The customer became more insistent. After that, my barkeep friend decided to be blunt. He said, “you can either watch the tv in the corner, or get out.” To this day, I still see this customer huddled up against the tv trying to watch his soccer, I just about fell off the barstool laughing.
