2025 is not going to be a fun season KCB. There is no doubt about it. We are going to be a 4th or 5th place club while the Cubs will be flying high. Watching the Cubs win the division while we bring up the rear will be repulsive but hopefully the Cubs will get put in their place by the Dodgers or Mets in the playoffs.
Let’s face it the Cardinals have defied gravity for too long and are now paying the price. As you mentioned hopefully we will see signs of life from some of our younger guys that we desperately need production from. That along with the build up of our farm system hopefully it won’t take many years before we are ready to knock the Cubs and Brewers off of their perch.
Building a strong farm system leads to so many good things. Not only can you benefit directly on the field with cheap talent but you can go out and trade for whoever you need. The Cubs just got Kyle Tucker because of the strength of their farm system. The Astros chose the Cubs trade offer over what the Yankees were offering. The Cardinals must get their farm system back into the top 10 so they can operate in many different avenues of roster building.
And having Bloom as the face of the franchise instead of Mo will at least be a breath of fresh air if nothing else. I choose to believe that better days are ahead even if 2025 is going to be a downer.
