The Cardinals are the type of organization that really needs to get impact players from their farm system because they aren’t going to jump into the deep end of the pool with free agents or trades. Sure getting guys like Arenado, Goldy, Contreras, and Gray has been nice but those guys are all on the wrong side of 30 and not exactly still in their prime.
For the Cardinals to contend for championships they need big production from guys like Gorman, Walker, and Carlson, along with a few homegrown pitchers. So far it just hasn’t happened but maybe those guys can turn it around.
