As of this morning the Cardinals had a payroll of $163M per Cots and the Dodgers payroll was $143M. The Ohtani signing will obviously change that and they will probably add more but I would be surprised if there will be a $86M gap on opening day. The Dodgers payroll for 2024 looks like chump change compared to what the Mets and Yankees are currently doing.
