Will Mo add only Yadi as a position player to the existing roster? A 5man bench would be Knizner, O’Neill, Ravelo, Sosa and Williams? I’m working off of Ravelo, Sosa and Williams are all out of options.
Is Schrock more valuable to the bench than any one of the out of options players? Is there someone else I’m not considering?
Ravelo backs up Goldy, and Nogowski is on the 40man. There’s no DH today and a roster full of outfielders.
Williams is probably the 6th OF’r, he or Dean, behind O’Neill and Thomas (by playing time).
Sosa is the only SS besides DeJong on the 40man. Currently, if Edman or DeJong goes IL, Sosa’s depth becomes important over 10day or longer IL stints. Is there another STL minors SS who would be MLB bench ready, that could be added to the 40man?
I’m not trying to pick a bench as much as trying to understand our current depth, and if/when Mo makes a transaction, how does it affect the existing bench, and the WHY he made the move. Who have I forgotten? What / who are your priorities for the bench with no DH?
