There is more than enough money in the game to satisfy everyone, but 2021 is going to bring management-labor ugliness to new levels, I predict. (I would love to be wrong.)
Yep, that’s what I see happening too, unfortunately. There will be increasingly less of the buckos flowing if they mess around and end up with a strike or lockout on their hands, but none of them seem to be too worried about that.
If Congress really wanted to “save America’s pastime,” they could start by threatening the removal of the antitrust exemption unless the sides agreed to an independent arbitration process with no lockout or shutdown in 2021 or 2022. Sports are a fantasy world and I’m tired of people who play a game (or own teams) arguing over how they spend my money.
