Fangraphs has us 21st in total pitching, 20th individually in starting and relief pitching. 13th in position player WAR: 20th in offense, 4th in defense and 18th in base running. The Cards led in DRS this year despite having about 10% less innings played afield than the average team.
It makes me wonder if BBRef changed their algorithm lately. Normally they are higher on Cards pitchers, who tend to pitch to contact, than Fangraphs’ system, which highly values Ks.
