Matt Carpenter did not have a lot of doubt he was coming back, but if his family had not wanted to come to StL, he probably would not have played.
In quarantine was lucky to be able to do same activities as in spring camp – take ground balls, hit and train.
Thinks DH is great, especially with StL lineup. Lot of guys fighting for playing time. One extra hitter is great. Thinks a lot of benefit in rest on body on DH days, but also is not thinking about fatigue in a three-month season.
Not opposed to bunting with runner on 2B in extra innings. Will depend on how he is swinging the bat and the man hitting behind him. Thinks it would be great to use DH in rotation among players, but also said that someone might fall into the role.
Other sports, college and pro. are looking at MLB as test case.
Not surprised Wainwright threw four innings today. Not surprised at anything he does.
