Approaching must win territory tonight. We don’t want to be in a position where we need help to get in the WC. So time to put a stop to these Dodgers.

Yes, this is a big game…as really they all are now. We need Flaherty to be on tonight. I think he will step up and the bats will give just enough run support.

Exactly, CardsRedSox4Ever & Euro! I think whoever wins this game tonight makes it into post season play. Dodgers win this game and they’ll clip us 3-4 in this crucial series. We win and we’ll go 2-2, which is ok for this series since LA wouldn’t pick up any ground plus we knock another 4 games off the schedule. In a RatsBuddy Special, I’ll call this one 6-3 Birds with Carpenter finally rediscovering the cheap seats with a late onboard. Then immediately after the game it’s a heaping bowl of rum raspberry tort country dumplings and back-to-back episodes of The Streets of San Francisco.

Now Mo says flaherty reminds him of carpenter. He’s stealing my material! 5 months later.

Pugs, that’s an awesome post-game celebration! Just don’t cook your dumplings before they…whatever!? (Can’t think of what!) SOSF is a good way to come down off that post-win euphoria, back when old Michael Douglas was a credible actor!

So far Cards are putting good wood on Buhler’s pitches just nothing to show for it yet, but I think they’ll pop in an inning or two. Need Jack to settle down too.

We’ll if they lose it won’t be for a lack of modern day effort from Flaherty. 2 out walk to Muncy. He’s been solid!

A couple half season Achilles are rearing their heads tonight. Can’t blame the base running because no one has gotten on. lol

    Welp August was fun.

Carp is back to performing like he did in April/May and the rest of the offense appears lost. And when the offense does click the pitching staff implodes (like last night).

Anybody else notice Shildt’s managing style has shifted since they dropped the interim tag?

Is it April?? Carp is really bad again, going for the hat trick tonight. He has struck out taking pitches that were clearly in the zone and then argued with the ump, and he has struck out swinging at a bouncer to the plate. Puig has stuck it to the Cards twice tonight, with a long blast in the 9th to make it 3-0.

Cards look lifeless and almost disinterested tonight, but you have to give a tip of the cap to Buehler. He was very good and rose higher to the occasion than Flaherty did. Flaherty did well, especially considering his high pitch count early.

Here’s a fun fact…in the 2015 MLB Draft, the Cardinals selected Nick Plummer with the 23rd pick in the draft. He has been…meh.

The Dodgers then selected Walker Buehler 24th in the first round and signed him to a slightly under slot deal.

That qualifies as a whiff. Thanks a lot, Correa.
