On Thursday afternoon, I joined Ken Miller and his co-host Trent Condon in the newest installment of our long-running series to discuss the St. Louis Cardinals in the Des Moines radio market and on the internet. The two anchor The Ken Miller Show with Trent Condon at KBGG 1700 AM Radio.
The discussion began with the recent positive results of the team and how the young pitching, including Jack Flaherty and Austin Gomber, have provided a jolt. Ken tried again to get me to proclaim Flaherty the team’s new ace.
We assessed the job interim manager Mike Shildt is doing and when the interim tag should be removed. The timing and impact of the return of Matt Holliday to Colorado was touched upon. We also discussed the upcoming schedule and how the season is shaping up to end with a bang against Milwaukee and Chicago.
