Nice to see our upstart Peoria squad nip visiting Wisconsin in 10 frames last night 3-2. A 10th inning sac bunt, hit batsman and wild pitch made winners out of the Chiefs at Dozer Park in front of 4,222 happy patrons. Ben Yokley, flying high after a 2 year stint with our prestigious Air Force, logged 2 hitless innings while whiffing 3 Rattlers to pick up the Win. Alvaro Seijas fired 6 stingy innings of 3 hit baseball to set the stage for victory and Nick Plummer ramrodded his 6th homer on the year….a towering 5th inning solo shot. As a quick aside, I noticed a player by the name of Brandon Grudzielanek, who went yard last evening in Lansing’s win over the cubbies affiliate. I’m thinking he must be the offspring of former Cardinal infielder Mark Grudzielanek.
In other DSL news, Ludwin Jimenez collected his first save, a 3 inning relief effort. He’s very on my radar for a top 50 spot this year as a 16 year old.
