You don’t hear much about him in terms of top prospects and his ranking has plummeted in most quarters.
May have to reconsider
On June 1 he was hitting.204 with 4 HR and 13 RBI
As of tonight he is hitting .260 with 17 HR and 55 RBI
The last 10 games he has hit .410 with 5 home runs and 13 RBI
The guy has a lot of tools; very fast, good defender who can play all three outfield positions and has a very strong arm. He previously hit well enough with modest power. But he went into a horrific slump after a pretty good start.
To my untrained eye he seems to have changed what formerly was a flat swing to more of an uppercut. If so that could explain his early season problems as he adjusted. He has always had excellect exit velocity but not a lot of home runs. That could also explain his uptick in homers this season.
Good eye, Sooner. I had noticed him hitting what seemed to be quite a few homers but didn’t realize the tear he’s on. He’s hitting .320 with an OPS in the .985 range since June 1. His walk rate is well down from an already low number, and his K rate suggests he’s possibly another Grichuk…but as a 4th OF with some pop it probably can be lived with.
Unfortunately for Adolis, we are teeming with 4th OFers so who knows if he’ll get a chance.

He’s an interesting case. Not like a 17 year old playing in the DSL.
A polished Cuban who is 25 and in his 2nd full season of American professional baseball. Came right to AA ball. Perhaps still trying to adjust on multiple levels both professionally and personally. In 2017 at Springfield and Memphis, he had 15 home runs and 34 doubles in 445 at bats. Slash of .290/.340/.476/.827. This season he’s hit 17 home runs and 17 doubles in 310 at bats. Slash of .260/.290/498/.788. Seems like he’s been working on his swing plane and launch angle a bit.
Probably sees that he needs to show more power if he wants to elevate his status to more than a #4 outfield prospect. Especially at his age.Adolis is on a tear but he is older than O

Malcom Nunez may be a bit too good for the DSL, which isn’t entirely unexpected, I guess. Still, a .391/.487/.750 line is pretty good.
The line of 3B in the system is starting to stack up pretty good now. Mendoza-Montero-Gorman-Nunez all appear to be candidates for top 30-50 spots in the rankings this offseason. Andy Young has played some 3B this year as well. Wisdom probably would be in the mix but he’s likely out of the system after this year. I’m a bit surprised they haven’t tried to move him in a trade to a where place get might get a call up.
I agree that Nunez needs to move up. Still can’t believe that we signed him for only 300,000. Wonder if he has a visa problem.
we have a right fielder that schlitz is playing everyday so as to break him out of the slump that started in march.
Not pounding on Wisdom – just reminding folks of the fact that he went unclaimed in each of the last two Rule 5 drafts. Any of the other 29 teams that had a 40-man spot for him could have had him for a song, but they all passed.
I get he is having a better year in terms of batting average in 2018, but Quad-A guys just don’t have much of a trade market.
Coming off a life-threatening head injury from which no one knew yet if he could pitch effectively again, yes, they did. However, I do not see how that relates to them passing on a healthy Wisdom for two years straight.
I can only imagine the uproar had the Padres taken Poncedeleon in the last Rule 5 Draft. Those crooks! 😉
