I wonder when Hudson will get his chance this year in STlouis? September? Earlier if rotation struggles more?

Carson Kelly’s AAA stats are nearly the same as last year. It sure would be nice if he could hit even 80% of that at the big league level instead of the complete crater he has done each time he’s called up. I still think he can offer something long term if he can put up even mediocre offense.

Agree about Kelly. He needs to play more than once a week to be effective i would think. In a perfect world Molina would start 100-110 games and Kelly 50 or so.That keeps Molina fresh and gets Kelly semi-regular playing time to develop.Likely won`t happen because MM lets Molina dictate his playing time.A peak Molina for 100-110 games is better than a tired beaten up worn down Molina trying to catch 140-150 games.

The “dictator” rules. And for two more seasons after this. Might as well kiss Kelly and Knizner away.

Yeah, cause no player who’s had to wait a couple of years to get a starting job has ever turned out well.

Um…. Molina got a 3yr contract. Kelly already knows just about everyone in Memphis, he could run for mayor. Knizner is eyeing a run at the council in Springfield.

Kelly was ready last year…. and once a premier catching prospect. Only Molina chose to have him sit on the bench and have everyone complain about CK’s BA which was not fair since he played one every quarter.

Kelly wasn’t ready last year. When he got his shot, he showed that he’s way overmatched by big league pitching. He also didn’t get as rave reviews for his defense in spring training as all the online sites seemed to give him. In fact, that was the main reason given for sending him down.

Now…Yadi is an average hitter right now with above average defense. If we were talking about replacing a bad player I guess I’d see your argument, but Molina now is a great outcome for what Kelly may be. We’ll see how things go next year and if Carson is all that you and everyone else thinks he is… he’ll be ready when he’s needed without falling off.
