Memphis off
Springfield vs. Tulsa: Connor Jones
Palm Beach vs. Fort Myers
Peoria vs. Beloit: Paul Balestrieri
DSL Cards Blue at Mets1
DSL Cards Red vs. Tigers1June 13, 2018 at 12:44 am #56276Thomas St. Clair has had an interesting start to his career. He’s definitely old at Peoria, but his season line now sits at 30.1 IP, 11 hits, 0 home runs allowed, 5 ER, and 41 K. He’s cut his walk rate down considerably from last year so his 12 walks allowed still come to a WHIP of only .75. Overall, in 50.1 IP in the minors he’s only given up 22 hits in 53 IP with 73 K for a total WHIP of .92. I think he probably needs to be promoted.
June 13, 2018 at 6:21 am #56280Here here, TLB! (That’s “TheLonleyBull” to the layman)! If one bends an ear towards the south-east, you can almost hear the hushed voice repeating the words “Send St. Clair to Palm Beach where he will continue to flourish….send St. Clair to Palm Beach where he will continue to flourish”. As a quick aside, isn’t the name “TheLonleyBull” a true classic! So much so that I would be willing to purchase that name from TLB and put the name “Pugs” out to pasture. I guess the first step would be to ask Brian that if I were to come to a financial agreement with TLB, would he make allowances for the name change to take place??
June 13, 2018 at 6:33 am #56284On Tuesday, the #STLCards system went 1-4. Player of the Day Connor Jones threw seven scoreless innings to lead Springfield to a win, keeping them a game back in the first-half race. https://t.co/PJ0ZiEmhSF pic.twitter.com/xKbnF5MkVa

ParticipantConnor Jones hurled a beauty last night for the S-Cards vs. Tulsa. A 7.0inn 1 hit 6 strike outs, GS=84, certainly his best start of the season.
June 13, 2018 at 6:37 am #56286On St. Clair, I agree on a promo, but not until next week. Let Peoria keep him to try to make the playoffs in the first half and let him pitch in the All-Star Game before leaving.

ParticipantHey Pugs, you seem to be taken by the “Lonely Bull”. It reminds me of Herb Alpert and the TB who covered the Ventures hit way back. Check it out on youtube, I guarantee you’ll enjoy it.
June 13, 2018 at 6:58 pm #56370Amazing that you mention Herb Alpert & The TB, Nyquist! As a child, that’s the only music my father listened to. I can now vividly recall the lyrics as if it were 1970. Thanks for that! As far as being smitten with the TheLonleyBull….who could blame me? The name just blows my mind. I’ve never heard the name before. TheLonleyDog, TheLonleyMoose, TheLonleyAntelope….they don’t work, but TheLonleyBull is pure genius. I’m waiting to hear from TheLonleyBull as to if he’s game for a name switch….at a price of course. He can pretty much name his price.
June 13, 2018 at 7:51 pm #56375Pugs, clicked on your profile to try to send you a PM. I guess you cant do that here. I have a name suggestion for you.
I also noticed that you have replied to 500+ topics but only started 1. That ratio has to be some kind of record!
June 13, 2018 at 10:41 pm #56391I too miss the PM feature, where you really got to know some of your fellow posters, Carioca. Maybe Brian will contemplate it’s return? That 500+ with only one “lone” topic initiation, is out of respect to the board. You guys are the experts and not me. BUT….if I had the name “TheLonleyBull” bestowed upon me, I have little doubt that the “inspiration” button would be activated and I would be firing off new topics left and right. The namings of individuals is really a quite interesting phenomena. Want your child to grow up to be a rugged rough sort who excels in sports such as football and rugby? Slap him with the name “Nick”, “Rocco”, “Hunter” or “Gunner” and you’re three quarters of the way home. Want your son to be a more gentler soul who may gravitate towards endeavors such as playing the flute or chess? Simply name the little guy “Goodwin”, “Benjamin” or “Theodore”. With these thoughts in mind, you can see why I’m so intent on getting my mitts on such a distinguished name as TheLonleyBull. If successful, you can expect to bid adios to the old Pugs and usher in a new poster, chalk full of great new ideas and thoughts about this game that we all so cherish.
