I love day baseball and would have stuck around for this one, but it did not work out with my schedule.

    Let’s get some runs!

Check out Kezar stadium while you’re in Frisco, BicycleMike. My father was a huge 49ers fan and in the 60’s would fly from Wisconsin to S.F. twice a year to see them play at Kezar. I was too young to vividly recall the 60’s. I do recall going to Milwaukee County Stadium with him in the 70’s to see his 49ers take on my beloved Packers.

Need a win today. Can’t allow these schluffs (Devers not included) to sweep us. Anybody seen Rat today? I could use an accurate meteorological report for today’s game. Rat mentioned something yesterday about being anxious to see his “sizzling red hot lady practitioner”. Since we haven’t heard from him today, it’s kind of looking like those two love birds may have gone off for a romantic lunch after Rat’s appointment.

Zezar Stadium meant John Brodie to Gene Washington for the quick 6…

Edit…I almost forgot to mention that Kezar was where Dirty Harry blasted the Scorpio killer with his 44.

Dirty Harry blasted the Scorpio killer with his 44

No way to know how many times I’ve seen that movie. Probably a tie with Outlaw Josie Wales.

I can’t recall the last time I watched it KCB, but the first time I saw it at the old Ozark Theatre it literally blew me away…That Scorpio killer guy was scary.

Great recall on the Dirty Harry – Kezar Stadium connection, TD. And boy was that Scorpio Killer perfectly cast for that movie. He was right on par with Jack Nicholson’s performance in The Shinning…….a b d speaking of Dirty Harry, Leonardo Abdiel Bernal just made my day with a towering 3 run jolt to right!

Pallante go’s to 8-0 on the road if he can go 5 and our Birds keep on a trucking. I’d love to see “The Bulldozer” (Bernal) whack 2 round trippers today.

The error charged to the Giants pitcher (Tidwell) results in one of those 3 Cardinal 3rd inning runs not being assessed to Tidwell’s ERA……which I think is a croc. Tidwell? Didn’t the Yankees once have a hurler by the name of Dick Tidwell…..or was it Dick Tidrow?

I remember Tidrow in the NL with the Cubbies.

I’m with you on Bernal, Pugs. He looks like he can hit.

I’m getting a bit worried about Rat’s absence. Hopefully they didn’t slap Rat into the ICU unit after being inspected at his doctor’s appointment today…..yeah yeah I know….it’s much more likely that the only slapping going on at that appointment would probably be that hot lady practitioner slapping Rat’s face.

Indeed TD, it was Dick Tidrow and not Tidwell. Came up with the Indians then dealt to the Yanks and then on to the cubbies.

Not sure why Winn isn’t playing today, Bling. Must me a bit sore after his first game back.

Phillip Abner on for the Giants and he gets the DP with 1 run scoring…..5-1 Birds. Related to Abner Doubleday possibly?

Don’t want to jinx him, but Pallante has it on cruise control right now and it’s clear sailing.

I’ll feel super comfy if Pallante can maintain a 3-4 run advantage through 7, then bring O’Brien on to pitch the 8th and then Gassy wrapping up matters in the 9th……..giving us a glimpse of our 2027 set-up and closer personnel.

I remember my first year (2006) on this site (then named “The Birdhouse”) and during game threads there would be like 50 posters following the action. It was kind of neat because it listed the names of posters that were on board at the bottom of the screen. You also had a PM box so that you could privately communicate with fellow posters if so desired. I miss those features.

I can’t recall the last time I saw a team attempt a SB while down by 5 runs.

Bernal hit that off the end of his bat and it still carried out near the right-center track…….we have a legit bopper here, gang.

Looking out over the bay, I’ve always had a desire to swim out to Alcatraz. Too old for that now, but there’s a local aquatic group in the bay area that has swimming events out that way. One of it’s female organizers was killed by a great white earlier this year.

    Pugs?

I got down to the medical clinic today (which is right next to me) and the place was closed. Not sure why. But I guess I will have to stop there and reschedule. No phone call, no text, no email, nothing. Just a sign on the door saying we are closed today.

    Phooey.

And I got myself all spiffed up too.

Gassy perfecto in his inning of work…..no surprise there. 6-1 Good Guys as we head to the 8th.
