The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was a perfect 4-0 on Thursday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Peoria’s Jacob Odle, struck out a career-high 12 across five innings of two-hit ball. Other standouts: Pete Hansen, Liam Doyle, Deniel Ortiz, Josiah Ragsdale, Rainiel Rodriguez, Travis Bissetta, Sebastian Dos Santos and Trevor Condon.

Memphis Redbirds 5, Durham Bulls 4
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds won a nail-biter over the Durham Bulls at AutoZone Park on Thursday.
Josh Fleming made his third start for Memphis. The left-hander pitched 4 ⅔ innings and allowed four runs on seven hits, three walks, and seven strikeouts.
Pete Hansen struck out six across 3 ⅓ shutout frames in relief of Fleming and picked up his fourth win. Matt Svanson secured the final four outs for his first save of the year with Memphis.
Durham opened the scoring with a two-run top of the second inning.
Memphis tied the game in the home half of the frame. Ramon Mendoza and Bligh Madris singled. Zach Levenson connected for a third consecutive single to bring Mendoza home and trim the gap to 2-1, with Madris to third base.

Trey Paige brought Madris home on a groundout to tie the game 2-2.
The Bulls regained the lead at 4-2 with a pair of runs in the fifth.
Memphis knotted the game up again in the seventh. Andy Yerzy, Noah Mendlinger and Chase Davis walked to load the bags with one out. Mendoza ripped a single to score Yerzy and bring the Redbirds within a run.

Madris plated Mendlinger via a sacrifice fly to tie the game at four.
The Redbirds grabbed their first lead of the game in the eighth. Paige hit a lead-off double and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt from Harris. Yerzy scored Paige with a sacrifice fly to put Memphis ahead 5-4.
Svanson escaped a bases loaded jam in the ninth to seal the win.
The Redbirds scored five runs on eight hits. Mendoza was 2-for-2 plus two walks, a run scored, and an RBI. Madris singled, scored, and notched an RBI. Levenson singled and drove in a run. Paige doubled, scored, and tallied an RBI. Yerzy walked, singled, scored and drove in a run.
On the bases, Moore was caught stealing second base.
On defense, second baseman Harris was tagged with a missed catch error.
Memphis is 25-34 in the second half and 73-62 overall.

Springfield Cardinals 14 at Corpus Christi Hooks 1
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals crushed the Hooks in Corpus Christi on Thursday.
Liam Doyle made his 22nd start for Springfield. The left-hander pitched 5 ⅔ innings and allowed one run on four hits, two walks, and four strikeouts. Doyle earned his fourth win and has been dominant since the end of June.

Nolan Sparks fired 1 ⅓ scoreless frames in relief of Doyle. Michael Watson struck out the side in the eighth. Randel Clemente finished the game with a scoreless ninth frame.
Springfield pounced early with a pair of small ball runs in the top of the first inning. Josiah Ragsdale was hit by a pitch and stole second. Rainiel Rodriguez walked. Ragsdale stole third and scored on a forceout, with Rodriguez out at second and Jesús Báez safe at first. Báez swiped second and made third via an error. Jack Gurevitch was hit by a pitch. Deniel Ortiz brought Báez home on a sacrifice fly to double the lead to 2-0.
The Cardinals surged ahead to 8-0 with a six-run second inning. Ryan Campos walked and stole second. Cade McGee and Tre Richardson walked to load the bags. Luis Pino took a fourth consecutive walk to force Campos home. Ragsdale walked to bring McGee home. Rodriguez was the sixth consecutive hitter to walk as he plated Richardson III. With Báez batting, Pino scored on a balk. Gurevitch hit a one-out single to score Ragsdale. Ortiz brought Rodriguez to the plate on his second sac fly of the game to stretch the lead to 8-0.
Springfield added two runs in the sixth. Pino walked and Ragsdale singled. Rodriguez grounded a single to score Pino. Báez singled home Ragsdale to widen the lead to 10-0.
The Hooks entered the run column in the home sixth, Doyle’s final inning.
Springfield tacked on two runs in the seventh. Campos and McGee walked and Richardson III singled to load the bases. Ragsdale was hit by a pitch to force Campos home. Rodriguez brought McGee home via a sacrifice fly for a 12-1 score.
Springfield cushioned the lead with a two-run eighth. Ortiz blasted his ninth home run of the year, a solo shot. Campos singled, McGee walked and Ragsdale loaded the bases with a single. Rodriguez drew a bases-loaded walk to bring Campos home for a 14-1 score.
Springfield hitters drew 13 walks en route to the blowout win.
The Cardinals scored 14 runs on 10 hits. Ortiz hit a home run and tallied three RBI. Báez was 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBI. Rodriguez singled, walked three times, scored, and collected four RBI. Ragsdale went 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored, and two RBI. Eight of nine Springfield hitters drew a walk, with four hitters taking multiple walks. The lineup was 7-for-16 with runners in scoring position.
On the bases, Ragsdale swiped two bags for five steals with Springfield. Campos stole his 16th base. Gurevitch was caught stealing second base.
On defense, second baseman McGee made a throwing error. Pitcher Doyle picked a runner off second base.
Springfield is 40-20 in the second half and 71-57 overall.

Peoria Chiefs 5, Quad Cities River Bandits 3
The High-A Peoria Chiefs edged the Quad Cities River Bandits at Dozer Park on Thursday.
Jacob Odle started for Peoria. The right-hander threw five innings and allowed two runs on two hits, three walks, and a career-high 12 strikeouts. Odle picked up his third win with Peoria.

Gerardo Salas tossed two scoreless innings in relief of Odle. Dylan Driessen yielded an unearned run in the eighth. Rubén Menes pitched a scoreless ninth for his third save.
The River Bandits struck first with a two-run top of the fourth inning.
The Chiefs took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the frame. Yordalin Peña doubled. Tristan Bissetta followed with a second consecutive double to plate Peña. Bissetta took third on a balk and scored on a two-run home run from Anyelo Encarnación, his ninth of the year.

Peoria added two runs in the sixth. Jalin Flores singled and scored on a two-run home run from Bissetta, his third career long ball, to extend the Peoria lead to 5-2.

Peoria pitching held Quad Cities to just one hit with runners in scoring position.
The Chiefs scored five runs on six hits. Bissetta was 2-for-4, including a double, a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI. Encarnación hit a home run for two RBI. Peña doubled and scored.
On the bases, José Suárez stole third base for his 25th steal. Ryan Weingartner snagged his third bag with Peoria.
On defense, shortstop Flores committed a fielding error.
Peoria is 30-32 in the second half and 62-66 overall.

Palm Beach Cardinals 6, Daytona Tortugas 5
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals walked off the Daytona Tortugas at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on Thursday.
Jacob Haley made his third start in his fifth game for the Cardinals. The right-hander threw two innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on one hit, no walks, and three strikeouts.
Earle Zulueta struck out five across 3 ⅓ shutout frames in relief of Haley. Brian Garmon fanned three over 1 ⅔ innings of scoreless baseball. Yadiel Batista surrendered three runs in the eighth. Nathan Shinn fired a shutout ninth frame and picked up his second win.
Daytona opened the scoring with a two-run top of the second inning.
Palm Beach tied the game in the home half of the third frame. Trevor Haskins walked and scored on a two-run home run from Sebastian Dos Santos, his eighth with Palm Beach.

The Cardinals grabbed the lead with a pair of runs in the fourth. Jayden Lobliner and Haskins singled and moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. Trevor Condon ripped a double to plate both runners and put the Cardinals in front 4-2.
Daytona scored three runs in the eighth to move ahead 5-4.
The Cardinals tied the game in the home eighth. Dee Kennedy bunted for a single. He advanced to third on a wild pitch and passed ball. With two outs, Lobliner struck out but made it to first base on a wild third strike, with Kennedy scoring the tying run.
The game remained tied at 5-5 entering the home ninth. Dos Santos was hit by a pitch and Gabe Camacho walked. Both moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. Miguel Hernández was hit by a pitch to load the bases with no outs. Dos Santos scored on another wild pitch for a 6-5 walk-off win for Palm Beach.
The Cardinals scored six runs on nine hits. Dos Santos was a perfect 2-for-2, including a home run, plus a walk, two runs scored and two RBI. Condon had two doubles and two RBI. Hernández and Mitchell each singled and drew a walk. Haskins walked, singled, and scored twice.
On the bases, Dos Santos swiped his 18th bag.
On defense, shortstop Hernández made both a throwing and a fielding error. Catcher Lobliner made a throwing miscue. Right fielder Matthew Miura committed a fielding error and nailed a runner at second base.
Palm Beach is 32-31 in the second half and 65-64 overall.
Friday’s game: vs. Daytona. Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 PM CT.
