Is Martinez ever going to live up to his hype/billing???
In my mind 2018 will be a pivotal year for him. Not sure what his contract status is but if its another sub-par year for him in 2018, well, why would we stick with him???

The Cards are right back to where they started, at .500. Just 5-10 since the eight-game winning streak with seven on the West Coast next.

I would love to see blue hair Martinez traded this off season for a couple of good players. Throw him into a deal for Stanton as a matter fact His throwing water in guys faces has gotten really tedious. Cards can sign a good free agent pitcher this winter. Unload this under achiever before it is too late.

Martinez is a pitcher with a million dollar arm, and a 10 cent head. I’m in with those who are tired of his immature behavior. He’s a guy that doesn’t show up half of the time, anyway. I wouldn’t mind trading him as long as we can find an adequate replacement.
The Cubs are crushing the Pirates, which will push the Cards to six games back in the division. Their biggest deficit was 6 1/2 out, just before and after the All-Star break. They are 5 1/2 back of the second wild card.
Would look for the addition of a third baseman this off season. Gyrorko is better in a super sub role. If Wisdom could only work on his OBP and K rate.
Where does this myth come from that Gyrko would be better as a utility guy? One of the best defensive 3rd basemen in the league. Hitting well enough to justify 3B. (Much better than the desired Frazier or even Longoria).
Bccran, what evidence do you have that he is better in a super sub role?
