The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-1 on Friday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Springfield RF Won-Bin Cho, went 2-for-5 with four RBI. Other standouts: Josiah Ragsdale, Jacob Odle, Brayden Smith and Andrew Williamson.

Memphis at Charlotte (postponed)
Friday’s game in Charlotte was postponed due to inclement weather. It will be played as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, August 29.
Memphis is 24-30 in the second half and is 10 games back of the Indianapolis Indians in the International League.
Saturday’s game: at Charlotte, Cooper Hjerpe LHP (0-0, 0.60) vs. David Sandlin RHP (2-0, 2.38) (game one); Josh Fleming LHP (4-7, 3.39) vs. Shane Smith RHP (2-1, 5.96) (game two).
The Double-A Cardinals defeated the Missions by a 10-6 score at Route 66 Stadium on Friday. It is Springfield’s 10th consecutive win.
Starter Braden Davis pitched five innings, gave up five runs on four hits, walked four and fanned six for his second win.
Darlin Saladin relieved Davis and threw a scoreless sixth. Sandro Santana hurled a scoreless seventh. Dominic Picone surrendered one run in the eighth. Jack Findlay tossed a scoreless ninth.
The Cardinals went up 5-0 in the first inning. Tai Peete singled. Rainiel Rodriguez and Josiah Ragsdale walked. Peete scored on a ground out by Jack Gurevitch. Won-Bin Cho drove in Rodriguez on a ground out. Ryan Campos singled to plate Ragsdale. Tre Richardson singled. Trey Paige singled and Campos came home. Jon Jon Gazdar singled to score Richardson.
In the second, a two-run home run by Cho increased Springfield’s lead to 7-0. The Cardinals made it 8-0 in the fourth on a solo home run by Ragsdale.

The Missions got on the board with four runs in the fifth. They added single runs in the sixth and eighth to shrink the lead to 8-6.
The Cardinals answered with two runs in the home eighth for the final score of 10-6 as Cho’s single drove in Peete and Ragsdale.
The offense scored 10 runs on 11 hits. Cho was 2-for-5 with four RBI. Ragsdale was 2-for-2 with an RBI and three runs scored. Peete was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Rodriguez scored two runs.
Gazdar stole his 11th base.
Cho made a throwing error. Davis picked a runner off first base.
Springfield is 37-18 in the second half and is in first place in the Texas League North.
Saturday’s game: vs. San Antonio, Blake Aita RHP (2-2, 5.08) vs. Fernando Sanchez LHP (1-3, 5.09) 6:35 CT.
On a one-hitter, the High-A Chiefs blanked the Whitecaps by the score of 8-0 on Friday.
Starter Jacob Odle pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings, allowed one hit, walked five and fanned seven.
Bobby Olsen relieved Odle and threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Nate Dohm hurled a scoreless seventh. Christian Worley tossed the final two scoreless innings with all six outs via the strikeout to earn the win.

Peoria went up 4-0 in the first inning. Sammy Hernandez and Jalin Flores singled. Tritan Bissetta walked. Brayden Smith followed with a grand slam.

The Chiefs added two runs in the second to increase the lead to 6-0. Michael Dattalo singled. Andrew Williamson hit a two-run home run.

Peoria made it 8-0 in the third. Cade McGee singled. Ian Petrutz walked. José Suárez singled. Dattalo walked and McGee came home. Petrutz scored on a ground out by Williamson.
The Chiefs scored eight runs on 12 hits. Smith had four RBI. Williamson drove in three. Hernandez and McGee were each 2-for-4. Flores was 2-for-5.
The Chiefs are 27-30 in the second half and are in fifth place in the Midwest League West.
Saturday’s game: at West Michigan, Brian Holiday RHP (0-1, 8.10) vs. Connor Fenlong RHP (3-1, 2.08) 6:05 CT
In Dunedin, the Class-A Cardinals were edged by the Blue Jays by a 5-4 score on Friday.
Starter Payton Graham pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings, allowed two hits, walked two and struck out two.
JR Fordham relieved Graham and finished the fourth. Jan Cabrera surrendered five runs in 3 1/3 innings. Kaden Echeman tossed the final 2/3 of a scoreless inning.
Palm Beach took a 1-0 lead in the third inning. J.P. Cabrera doubled, advanced to third on a ground out by Travis Honeyman and scored on a passed ball.
The Cardinals increased the lead to 2-0 in the top of the fifth. Cabrera singled. Honeyman walked. Honeyman stole second. Cabrera scored on a throwing error.
Dunedin scored one run in the home fifth to cut the lead to 2-1.
In the top of the sixth, the Beach Birds added two runs to extend the lead to 4-1. Matthew Miura singled, then stole second and third. Gabe Camacho was hit by a pitch. Cabrera reached on an error and Miura scored. Honeyman walked. Trevor Condon walked to score Camacho.
The Blue Jays put up four runs in the bottom of the sixth against Jan Cabrera to take the lead and they went on to win, 5-4.
The Cardinals scored four runs on eight hits. J.P. Cabrera was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Cristofer Lebrón stole his sixth base. Honeyman swiped his first bag. Miura stole two bases. Lebrón and Condon were caught stealing.
The Cardinals are 29-29 in the second half and are in second place in the Florida State League East, 6.5 games back of Daytona.
