The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 3-1 on Thursday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Springfield outfielder Tai Peete, crushed two home runs in a three-hit, three-RBI performance. Other standouts: Bligh Madris, Ryan Murphy, Daniel Eagen, Won-Bin Cho, Dallis Moran, Sebastian Dos Santos and Owen Henne.

Memphis Redbirds 3 at Charlotte Knights 2 (10 innings)
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds prevailed in extra-innings over the Charlotte Knights in Thursday’s road contest.
Brandt Thompson made his eighth start in his 13th game for Memphis. The right-hander pitched six innings and allowed two runs on five hits, two walks and five strikeouts.
Hancel Rincon threw a scoreless seventh frame in relief of Thompson. Matt Svanson followed with a shutout eighth frame. Ryan Murphy fired two scoreless innings to finish the game and pick up his fourth win.
Charlotte scored a pair of runs in the second inning to move ahead.
Memphis tied the score at 2-2 in the sixth. Brody Moore and Colton Ledbetter singled and moved into scoring position on a pickoff error. Ramon Mendoza walked to load the bags. Bligh Madris lined a double to plate Moore and Ledbetter.

The contest remained knotted to force extra innings.
The Redbirds grabbed the lead with a run in the top of the 10th. Dakota Harris began the inning at second base. Harris moved to third on a sacrifice bunt from Noah Mendlinger. Brody Moore ripped a single to score Harris.

Murphy slammed the door in the bottom of the 10th to seal the win.
The Redbirds scored three runs on six hits. Madris doubled for two RBI. Ledbetter was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Moore singled twice, scored a run, and drove in a run.
On the bases, César Prieto was caught stealing second and picked off first.
On defense, Ledbetter threw a runner out at home from center field.
Memphis is 24-30 in the second half and 71-58 overall.
Friday’s game: at Charlotte. LHP Cooper Hjerpe (0-1, 3.08) vs. RHP David Sandlin (2-0, 2.38) 4:05 PM CT.
Springfield Cardinals 7, San Antonio Missions 2
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals bested the San Antonio Missions at Route 66 Stadium for their ninth consecutive win.
Daniel Eagen started his fourth game for Springfield. The right-hander pitched 5 ⅔ innings and allowed two runs on four hits, one walk, and a season-high 11 strikeouts. Eagan earned his seventh win of 2026, his second with the Cardinals.

Michael Watson recorded the final out of the sixth. Joseph King followed with a scoreless seventh. José Davila struck out three in a shutout eighth. Randel Clemente finished the game with a scoreless ninth.
San Antonio struck first with a run in the top of the first inning.
Springfield immediately snatched the lead in the home first. Tai Peete hit a leadoff single and stole second. Jesús Báez lined a single to put runners at the corners. Josiah Ragsdale ripped a double to score Peete.

The Cardinals added another pair of runs in the second frame. Tre Richardson III doubled and scored on Peete’s second Double-A home run, a two-run shot, for a 4-1 lead.
The Missions moved within two with a run in the third.
The Cardinals took the run back in the fourth. Richardson III walked and swiped second. Richardson III took third on a flyout and scored on a fielder’s choice for a 5-2 lead.
The Cardinals added a run in the fifth. Ragsdale singled and stole second. Won-Bin Cho doubled to score Ragsdale for the sixth Cardinals run.
Springfield scored a run in the sixth, their third consecutive scoring frame. Peete launched his second home run of the game, a solo shot, to extend the lead to 7-2.

Springfield’s relievers combined for 3 ⅓ innings of scoreless baseball in the win.
The Cardinals scored seven runs on 12 hits. Peete went 3-for-5, including two home runs, three runs scored, and three RBI. Cho was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Ragsdale collected two hits, including a double and an RBI. Rainiel Rodriguez recorded an RBI. Richardson II was 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, and two runs scored. Ortiz singled and notched an RBI.
On the bases, Peete stole his fourth Double-A bag. Ortiz swiped his eighth base. Richardson III snagged his 19th Double-A base. Cho stole his sixth bag with Springfield. Rodriguez was caught stealing second base.
The Cardinals did not commit an error.
Springfield is 36-18 in the second half and 67-55 overall.

Peoria Chiefs 1 at West Michigan Whitecaps 3
The High-A Peoria Chiefs lost a pitchers’ duel to the Whitecaps in West Michigan on Thursday.
Brandon Clarke started for Peoria. The left-hander threw 4 ⅓ innings and gave up an unearned run on two hits, one walk, and five strikeouts, taking the tough loss.
Zeke Wood fired 1 ⅔ innings of scoreless, no-hit baseball. Dylan Driessen gave up a run in the seventh. Patrick Galle yielded a run in the eighth.
After a leadoff double from Caden Ferraro in the top of the first inning, the Chiefs were unable to ignite their bats. West Michigan took a 2-0 lead into the eighth inning when Peoria entered the run column.
José Suárez walked and stole both second and third. Michael Dattalo plated Suárez on a groundout to put the Chiefs on the board. But Peoria was unable to respond further in the loss.
Peoria scored one run on just three hits. Ferraro walked and doubled. Jalin Flores and Yordalin Peña singled. Dattalo recorded the team’s lone RBI. The lineup was 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.
On the basepaths, Suárez stole both second and third base.
On defense, second baseman Ryan Weingartner committed a fielding error. The Chiefs turned three double plays.
Peoria is 26-30 in the second half and 58-64 overall.

Palm Beach Cardinals 7 at Dunedin Blue Jays 5
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals won a tight contest over the Blue Jays in Dunedin on Thursday.
Jacob Haley made his second start in his fourth game for the Cardinals. The right-hander tossed 1 ⅔ innings and allowed two runs on two hits, two walks, and one strikeout.
Earle Zulueta pitched 3 ⅓ relief innings and allowed three runs on three hits, three walks, and two strikeouts, picking up his first Single-A win. Dallis Moran struck out three across three scoreless innings. Justin Militello pitched a shutout ninth frame for his second save.
The Blue Jays jumped ahead 3-0 in the second inning.
Palm Beach immediately tied the game in the top of the third. J.P. Cabrera and Travis Honeyman hit back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners. Sebastian Dos Santos blasted his seventh home run with Palm Beach, a three-run shot.
Dunedin scored a pair of runs in the home third to regain the lead at 5-3.
The Cardinals grabbed the lead with a trio of runs in the sixth. Dos Santos walked and moved to second on a wild pitch. Matthew Miura legged out an infield single to put runners at the corners. Miura stole second. Owen Henne brought Dos Santos home on a groundout. Miguel Hernández doubled home Miura. Trevor Haskins hit a second consecutive double to bring Hernández home and put the Cardinals in front 6-5.
Palm Beach added an insurance run in the eighth. Henne led off the inning with his first career home run to extend the lead to 7-5.

The Cardinals scored seven runs on 11 hits. Dos Santos was 2-for-3, including a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI. Henne hit a home run and drove in two. Hernández was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored, and an RBI. Haskins doubled and notched an RBI. Ryan Mitchell singled twice.
On the bases, Miura swiped his 19th bag. Haskins stole his 23rd base. Mitchell snagged his 38th bag.
On defense, catcher Jayden Lobliner made a throwing error.
Palm Beach is 29-28 in the second half and 62-61 overall.
Friday’s game: at Dunedin. Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 PM CT.
