The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 1-1 on Monday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, DSL Cardinals RHP Daniel Gómez, pitched five scoreless innings with six strikeouts en route to his first win of the season. Other standouts include Yeferson Portolatin, Cristofer Lebrón, Sebastian Rojas, and Jesús Pérez.

Memphis Redbirds (off-day)
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds were off on Monday as they headed to Vystar Ballpark in Jacksonville, Florida, to begin the second half with a six-game series with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, starting Tuesday.
The Redbirds enter the week after clinching a first-half championship in the International League.
Outfielder Joshua Báez continues to swing a powerful bat. The 22-year-old leads the International League in home runs (25) and RBI (64) while also having tallied the most steals on the Redbirds (12).
Bligh Madris continues to swing a hot bat in recent games, as his batting average is up to .290 and ranks second on the team in RBI (47).
On the mound, left-hander Bruce Zimmerman has thrown the most innings at 67 ⅔ and earned the most wins in the rotation with five through 13 starts. Quinn Mathews has totaled the most strikeouts at 76. Right-hander Luis Gastelum has collected a team-best seven winning decisions in relief and has struck out 42 hitters across 38 ⅓ innings with a 2.58 ERA.
Memphis finished the first half with an International League-best 47-28 record to clinch the first half title and a postseason appearance.

Springfield Cardinals (off-day)
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals were off on Monday, as they headed home to Route 66 Stadium to begin the second half with a six-game series against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, starting Tuesday.
The Cardinals will look to continue their winning ways after taking four of six from the Wind Surge in Wichita.
Ryan Campos has provided a strong bat for the team and holds the team lead in RBI (42) and is tied for the team lead in home runs (8). Campos’s .294 batting average is the highest on the squad and his 12 doubles is one behind Miguel Ugueto for the most.
Dakota Harris has showcased the power in recent games, moving to second on the team in home runs (7) and RBI (37). Harris has also swiped 23 bases.
Springfield will welcome the additions of outfielder Won-Bin Cho and infielder Jesús Báez as well, as they are both being promoted following strong seasons with the Peoria Chiefs.

On the mound, Mason Molina is putting together an impressive season. The left-hander holds a 3.18 ERA across a team-high 62 ⅓ innings along with the team-lead in strikeouts (76).
Springfield finished the first half with a record of 31-37 after the series win in Wichita, third place in the Texas League North Division.

Peoria Chiefs (off-day)
The High-A Peoria Chiefs were off on Monday, as they traveled to ABC Supply Stadium for a six-game set with the Beloit Sky Carp, starting Tuesday.
Peoria will look to take advantage of two consecutive off-days, as Sunday’s contest at home with the Dayton Dragons was canceled due to inclement weather.
On offense, Jalin Flores leads the Chiefs with 48 RBI and has collected the most hits on the squad with 62. Flores has also hit 10 home runs.
Josh Kross is one behind the hits-lead at 61. Kross has also hit nine home runs and driven in 27 runs.
Following the promotions of Won-Bin Cho and Jesús Báez to Double-A Springfield, infielder Michael Dattalo will join the Chiefs roster, among other transactions.

On the mound, Blake Aita has turned in 12 solid starts. The right-hander holds a 3.56 ERA across 48 innings and 56 strikeouts, the third-most on the staff. Jhoiker Fajardo holds a team-best 3.53 ERA across 56 ⅓ innings in 12 games (10 starts), and is tied with Leonel Sequera for the most strikeouts at 68.
Peoria is 1-1 in the second half and 33-35 overall.

Palm Beach Cardinals (off-day)
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals were off on Monday, as they prepared for a six-game series at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium with the Bradenton Marauders, starting Tuesday.
The Cardinals will look to continue their momentum after taking four of six from Jupiter.
The switch-hitting infielder Jonathan Mejía leads Palm Beach with eight home runs and 38 RBI. Yordalin Peña has collected the most hits on the team with 49 and has hit seven home runs. Ryan Weingartner has tallied the second-most hits on the team with 47. In his first 31 games, Michael Dattalo has hit an impressive .368 with 42 hits and 21 RBI. Dattalo has also walked 18 times while striking out 14 times, earning him a promotion to Peoria.
On the mound, left-hander Cade Crossland has thrown a team-high 54 ⅔ innings across 13 starts, striking out 78 in that time. Crossland has also won three contests.
Palm Beach is 2-1 in the second half and 35-34 overall
Tuesday’s game: vs. Bradenton (PIT). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 PM CT.
FCL Cardinals 2 at FCL Astros 4 (Seven innings)
The Florida Complex League Cardinals lost a close seven-inning contest to the FCL Astros on Monday.
Sem Robberse made his second start for the Cardinals, as he works to rejoin the Memphis Redbirds. The right-hander threw two scoreless, no-hit innings with a strikeout and no walks.
Andrew Bolívar pitched three innings and allowed two runs in relief of Robberse. Owen Rice yielded two unearned runs and recorded two outs in the sixth, taking the loss. Brailyn Paulino secured the last out of the sixth.
The Cardinals opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first inning. Yairo Padilla doubled and scored on a Cristofer Lebrón double to put the Cardinals in front 1-0.
The Astros tied the game in the home third. The Cardinals regained the lead with a run in the fourth.
Lebrón walked and moved to second base on a balk. Kenly Hunter advanced Lebrón to third base with a sacrifice bunt and Lebrón crossed home plate on a wild pitch for a 2-1 Cardinals lead.
The Astros scored a run in the fourth to knot the game at two and grabbed the lead with a pair of runs in the sixth for a 4-2 score. The Cardinals were unable to answer.
The FCL Cardinals scored two runs on five hits. Lebrón was 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI. Padilla doubled and scored a run. J.P. Cabrera logged a double. Facundo Velásquez hit a triple.
The Cardinals did not steal a base.
On defense, second baseman Miguel Hernández made two throwing errors. Shortstop Padilla committed a fielding error. Catcher Cabrera picked a runner off first base and was tagged with a passed ball.
The FCL Cardinals are 10-23 on the season. They will play a home contest with the FCL Mets on Tuesday.

DSL Cardinals 9, DSL Mets Blue 4 (Seven innings)
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals bested the DSL Mets Blue on Monday.
Daniel Gómez started his fourth game for the Cardinals. The right-hander pitched five scoreless innings on three hits, no walks, and six strikeouts. Gómez earned his first win of the season.
Rafeli Moronta allowed four runs over 1 ⅔ innings in relief of Gómez. Kriscol Peralta recorded the final out of the game.
The Cardinals broke the scoreless tie with a four-run bottom of the fourth inning.
Michael Cordero walked and moved to third base on a double from Misael Sánchez. Jesús Pérez drew a walk to load the bases. With two outs, Yeferson Portolatin belted a grand slam, his first home run of the year, to clear the bases and put the Cardinals ahead 4-0.
The Cardinals widened the lead with five runs in the fifth.
Cordero walked. Sánchez grounded into a forceout, with Cordero out at second base and Sánchez safe at first. Sánchez scored from first base on a pickoff error for a 5-0 Cardinals lead. Roberth Castillo followed with a double. Pérez hit a second consecutive double to bring Castillo home and extend the lead to 6-0.
Lucas Takahashi blooped a single to score Pérez for the seventh Cardinals run.
Portolatin drew a walk. Sebastian Rojas ripped a double to plate Takahashi for an 8-0 Cardinals lead, with Portolatin to third base.
Portolatin crossed home plate on a wild pitch to stretch the lead to 9-0.
The Cardinals held off a late Mets Blue rally in the win.
The DSL Cardinals scored nine runs on 11 hits. Portolatin walked, scored twice, and drove in four runs on a grand slam. Rojas was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Pérez was 2-for-2, including a walk, a double, two runs scored, and an RBI. Takahashi singled, scored a run, and notched an RBI.
The Cardinals did not steal a base nor commit an error.
The DSL Cardinals are 9-7 on the season. They will play a road contest with the DSL NYY Yankees on Tuesday.
