The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 2-2 on Sunday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Memphis RHP Max Rajcic, struck out five across 2 ⅔ innings of dominant relief for his third win. Other standouts include Ramon Mendoza, Bligh Madris, Nelson Velázquez, Jon Jon Gazdar, Tai Peete, Won-Bin Cho and Jack Gurevitch.

Memphis Redbirds 8 at Toledo Mud Hens 1
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds bested the Mud Hens in Toledo to secure the series split on Sunday.
In a bullpen game, Scott Blewett made his first start for Memphis as the opener. The right-hander threw two scoreless innings on one hit, two walks, and three strikeouts.
Luis Gastelum fanned three across two scoreless innings in relief of Blewett. Max Rajcic followed and fired 2 ⅔ shutout frames with five strikeouts as he earned his third win of the season. The right-hander lowered his ERA to 1.78. Rehabbing right-hander Matt Pushard allowed a run over 1 ⅓ innings. Ryan Fernandez finished the game with a scoreless ninth.
The Redbirds broke the scoreless tie with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Blaze Jordan was hit on the left side of his head by an errant pitch and Miguel Villarroel pinch ran. Jimmy Crooks and Leo Bernal walked to load the bags with no outs. Nelson Velázquez was hit by a pitch to force Villarroel home for a painful RBI. Bligh Madris grounded into a forceout with Crooks coming home for a 2-0 Memphis lead.
The Redbirds extended the lead with a three-run eighth inning. Velázquez began the frame with a double and took third base on a wild pitch. Madris lined a single to bring Velázquez home for a 3-0 Redbirds lead.

Ramon Mendoza followed with a two-run home run, his fifth of the season, to stretch the lead to 5-0.

Toledo entered the run column with a run in the home eighth.
The Redbirds plated three insurance runs in the ninth. Villarroel lined a single. Crooks drew a walk. Bernal followed with a single to score Villarroel.

Bernal crossed home plate on a sacrifice fly from Madris to widen the lead to 8-1.
Memphis pitching combined for 15 strikeouts in the win.
The Redbirds scored eight runs on nine hits. Madris was 3-for-4 with three RBI. Velázquez went 2-for-3, including a double, a walk, a run scored and two RBI. Mendoza was 2-for-4 with a home run, walk and two RBI. Bernal walked, singled, scored a run, and notched an RBI.
On the bases, Villarroel swiped his first bag at the Triple-A level.
The Redbirds did not commit an error.
Memphis is 25-14 on the season. They hold a one game lead over Gwinnett for first place in the International League West Division. The Redbirds are off Monday as they head home to AutoZone Park for a six-game set with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, beginning Tuesday.

Springfield Cardinals 11, Corpus Christi Hooks 5
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals crushed the Corpus Christi Hooks at Route 66 Stadium for the Mother’s Day win.
Jurrangelo Cijntje started his seventh game for Springfield. The switch-pitcher faced 21 batters right-handed and three batters left-handed. The 22-year-old pitched 4 ⅔ innings and allowed four runs on seven hits, one walk, and seven strikeouts.
Left-hander Jack Findlay recorded the final out of the fifth inning in relief of Cijntje. Domenic Picone yielded an unearned run over 1 ⅔ innings. Darlin Saladin followed with 1 ⅓ frames of scoreless ball with three strikeouts to pick up his second win of 2026. Michael Watson tossed a scoreless ninth.
The Hooks struck first with a two-run top of the first inning.
Springfield trimmed the lead in half in the home first. Jon Jon Gazdar was hit by a pitch and moved to second on a Miguel Ugueto lineout. Ryan Campos ripped a single to bring Gazdar home.

The Hooks plated a second pair of runs in the top of the fourth to move ahead 4-1.
The Cardinals moved within two in the home half of the frame as Travis Honeyman crushed his second home run of the season.

Springfield tied the game in the fifth inning. Gazdar hit a lead-off single. Campos legged out a bunt single. Honeyman walked to load the bases with two outs. Jeremy Rivas blooped a single to plate Gazdar and Campos to tie the game at four apiece.
Corpus Christi regained the lead with a run in the sixth.
Springfield responded with a five-run bottom of the seventh. Honeyman walked and moved to third base on a Rivas double. Dakota Harris took a free pass to load the bases with no outs. Graysen Tarlow brought Honeyman home on a sacrifice fly. Noah Mendlinger walked to reload the bases. Gazdar connected for a single to score Rivas and Harris and give the Cardinals a 7-5 lead, with Mendlinger to third base.

Mendlinger came home on a Ugueto sacrifice fly. Campos lined a single. Paige followed with a single to plate Gazdar and extend the lead to 9-5.
The Cardinals added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth. Harris walked and advanced to second base via a wild pitch. Tarlow walked. Harris moved to third base on defensive indifference. Mendlinger hit a double to bring Harris home, with Tarlow to third base. Tarlow crossed home on a Gazdar groundout to stretch the lead to 11-5.
Springfield tallied five hits with runners in scoring position in the win. The Cardinals scored 11 runs on 11 hits. Rivas was 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and two RBI. Gazdar went 2-for-4, including a walk, three runs scored, and two RBI. Honeyman drew three walks, scored twice, and hit a solo home run. Campos walked, hit three singles, scored a run, and drove in a run. Mendlinger walked twice, singled, scored a run, and drove in a run. The lineup drew 11 walks and struck out just one time.
On the bases, Ugueto swiped his 17th bag of the campaign.
On defense, pitcher Picone committed a pickoff error.
Springfield is 12-21 on the season after the series split with Corpus Christi. The Cardinals reside in last place in the Texas League North Division, eight games behind first place. They are off on Monday and will head to ONEOK Field in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for a six-game series with the first-place Tulsa Drillers, starting Tuesday.

Peoria Chiefs 8, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 15
The High-A Peoria Chiefs allowed runs in six of the first seven innings and fell to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers by a 15-8 score in the Mother’s Day series finale at Dozer Park.
Leonel Sequera started his seventh game of the season. The right-hander tossed 3 ⅓ innings and allowed eight runs on seven hits, two walks, and four strikeouts. Sequera took the loss.
Jawilme Ramírez yielded two runs across 1 ⅔ innings in relief of Sequera. Zack Showalter surrendered three runs in an inning of work. Fresh off the injured list, Aaron Holiday gave up two runs in the seventh inning. Bobby Olsen tossed a shutout eighth frame. Rubén Menes fired a scoreless ninth inning.
Wisconsin pounced early in a five-run top of the first inning.
Peoria chipped into the gap with a two-run bottom of the second. Josh Kross walked and scored on Won-Bin Cho’s fourth home run of the season, a two-run shot.

Wisconsin scored one run in the third and three in the fourth to move ahead 9-2.
The Chiefs plated three runs in the home fourth to inch closer. Cade McGee doubled. Cho drew a walk with McGee to third base on a wild pitch on ball four. Cho swiped second base as McGee scored on the play via a throwing error. Cho moved to third base and scored on two consecutive wild pitches for the fourth Chiefs run. Christian Martin drew a free pass and took second on a wild pitch. Rainiel Rodriguez followed with a walk. The two runners advanced on a wild pitch. Martin crossed home plate on the fifth wild pitch of the inning to move the Chiefs within four at 9-5.
The Timber Rattlers scored a run in the fifth, three in the sixth, and two in the seventh to take a 15-5 lead.
Peoria scored a run in the home seventh. Jalin Flores roped his eighth double of the season. Kross lined a single to plate Flores.
The Chiefs added a pair of runs in the eighth. Martin doubled. Tai Peete followed with a two-run home run, his fifth of the season, to narrow the gap to 15-8.

The Chiefs were unable to respond further in the loss.
Peoria scored eight runs on seven hits. Cho drew two walks, scored twice, hit a home run, and drove in two. Peete walked and tallied two RBI on a home run. Kross walked, scored a run, singled, and notched an RBI. McGee doubled and scored. Martin walked, doubled, and scored two runs.
On the basepaths, Cho stole his 11th bag of the season.
Second baseman Martin committed a fielding error.
Peoria is 14-18 on the season after taking two of six from Wisconsin. They are tied with Beloit for fourth place in the Midwest League West Division. The Chiefs are off Monday as they head to ABC Supply Stadium in Beloit, Wisconsin, for a six-game series with the Beloit Sky Carp, starting Tuesday.

Palm Beach Cardinals 4 at Jupiter Hammerheads 7
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals dropped a close contest to the Jupiter Hammerheads in Sunday’s series finale.
Jack Martinez made his seventh start for Palm Beach. The right-hander threw 2 ⅔ innings and allowed two runs on one hit, two walks, and two strikeouts. Martinez took the loss.
Yordy Herrera surrendered three runs, two earned, and recorded just two outs in relief of Martinez. Antoni Cuello followed with 2 ⅓ shutout frames. Liam Best yielded a run and secured two outs. Dylan Driessen gave up an unearned run and fanned three over 1 ⅔ innings.
Jupiter began the scoring with a five-run bottom of the third inning.
The Cardinals moved within three in a two-run top of the sixth. Ryan Mitchell lined a single. Jack Gurevitch launched a two-run home run, his sixth long ball of the season, to score Mitchell.
Jupiter score one in the home seventh for a 6-2 lead.
Palm Beach trimmed the gap to two runs with a pair of runs in the eighth. Mitchell was hit by a pitch and swiped second base. Gurevitch ripped a single to move Mitchell to put runners at the corners. Ryan Weingartner walked, with Mitchell scoring on the play due to a wild ball four. Jonathan Mejía grounded out, with the runners advancing. Gurevitch touched home plate via a wild pitch to move Palm Beach within two at 6-4.
Jupiter added an insurance run in the home eighth. Palm Beach was unable to respond.
The Cardinals scored four runs on eight hits. Gurevitch was 3-for-5, including a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI. Mitchell walked twice, singled, and scored twice. Brayden Smith was 2-for-4 with a triple.
On the bases, Mitchell stole his eighth bag and was caught stealing second base. Gurevitch was also caught stealing second base.
On defense, pitcher Herrera made a throwing error. First baseman Chase Heath committed a fielding error.
Palm Beach is 17-16 on the season after taking just one of six from Jupiter. They reside in second place in the Florida State League East Division, two games behind Jupiter for first place. The Cardinals are off Monday and will stay at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium to prepare for a six-game series with the Daytona Tortugas, starting Tuesday.

FCL Cardinals (off day)
The Florida Complex League Cardinals were off Sunday, as they prepared for a road contest with the FCL Nationals on Monday.
The Cardinals enter with momentum following a 9-4 road win over the FCL Mets on Saturday.
The FCL Cardinals are 2-2 on the season.
