The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-2 on Friday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Springfield RF Chase Davis, went 3-for-4 including two home runs with four RBI. Other standouts include Pete Hansen, Chen-Wei Lin, Dakota Harris, Tai Peete, Jack Gurevitch and Luis Pino.

Memphis 0 at Norfolk 1 (10 innings)
The Triple-A Redbirds fell to the Tides in a 1-0 extra inning loss on Friday.
Starter Pete Hansen pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings, allowed three hits, walked two and fanned six.
Luis Gastelum relieved Hansen and secured the final out of the fifth. Scott Blewett and Max Rajcic threw two scoreless innings each. Skylar Hales allowed the winning run in the 10th on a bases-loaded single and took the walkoff loss.
The Redbirds scattered seven hits. Leonardo Bernal was 3-for-4. Bligh Madris was 2-for-3. The offense was 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.
Madris stole his first base of the season. Colton Ledbetter and Bernal were caught stealing.
Madris made a missed catch error. Ledbetter had an outfield assist at second base.
Memphis is 16-9 on the season.
Saturday’s game: at Norfolk, RHP Hunter Dobbins (3-0, 3.86) vs. Cade Povich LHP (0-1, 5.40) 5:35 CT.
The Double-A Cardinals beat the RockHounds 9-2 in Springfield on Friday. Starter Brandt Thompson pitched five innings, gave up two runs on five hits, walked one and fanned six.
Chen-Wei Lin relieved Thompson and threw the final four scoreless innings for the win. Lin allowed just two hits and two walks and struck out six.
Midland took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Springfield cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the inning on a solo home run by Travis Honeyman.

The Cardinals tied the game in the fourth. Chase Davis and Ryan Campos singled. Zach Levenson grounded into a double play and Davis scored.
Springfield took the lead 4-2 in the sixth on a two-run home run by Davis. In the eighth, the Cardinals added five runs to extend the lead to 9-2. Miguel Ugueto singled and stole second base. Davis followed with another two-run home run.

Campos and Trey Paige singled. Honeyman walked. Campos scored on a wild pitch. Dakota Harris plated Paige and Honeyman on a single.
The offense scored nine runs on 13 hits. Davis was 3-for-4 including two home runs with four RBI and three runs scored. Harris was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Ugueto was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Campos was 2-for-4. Noah Mendlinger was 2-for-4. Honeyman homered and scored two runs.
Harris stole his fifth base of the season. Ugueto swiped his 12th bag. Paige made a fielding error.
Springfield is 7-12 on the season.
Saturday’s game: vs. Midland, Liam Doyle LHP (0-2, 9.39) vs. Wei-En Lin LHP (1-0, 2.25) 6:05 CT.
The Chiefs’ four-game winning streak ended as the Kernels took an 8-4 win at Dozer Park on Friday. Starter Blake Aita pitched four innings, gave up four runs on seven hits, walked two and fanned five. Aita took the loss.
Christian Worley relieved Aita and surrendered three runs in 1 2/3 innings. Sam Brodersen yielded one unearned run in 1 1/3 innings. Gerardo Salas tossed the final two scoreless innings.
Cedar Rapids went up 1-0 in the top of the first inning. Peoria tied it in the home first. Tai Peete and Rainiel Rodriguez walked. Jésus Báez doubled to plate Peete.
The Kernels made it 2-1 in the top of the second but the Chiefs answered in the home half on a solo home run by Peete.

Cedar Rapids regained the lead 3-2 in the third, then added a run in the fourth, two in the fifth, and one in the sixth to extend the lead to 7-2.

The Chiefs plated one run in the ninth to bring the final score to 8-4. Won-Bin Cho singled and later scored on a double by Jose Cordoba.
The offense scored four runs on six hits. No Chief had multiple hits. Peete scored two runs.
Miguel Villarroel stole his fourth base. Rodriguez made two errors, a throwing error and catcher interference. Suárez had an outfield assist at home plate.
Peoria is 8-10 on the season.
Saturday’s game: vs. Cedar Rapids, Yhoiker Fajardo RHP (1-0, 1.42) vs. Eli Jones RHP (1-0, 1.35) 6:05 CT.
The Class-A Cardinals pounded the Mets in a 12-4 road win on Friday. Starter Jacob Odle pitched 4 1/3 innings, gave up three runs on six hits, walked one and fanned six.
Patrick Galle relieved Odle and threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings for the win. Ruben Menes surrendered one run in 2 2/3 innings. Liam Best collected the final out of the ninth.
The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Ryan Weingartner singled and scored on a double by Jack Gurevitch.

The Mets tied the game in the home first and took a 2-1 lead in the third. In the top of the fourth, Palm Beach scored two runs to lead 3-2. Cameron Nickens walked. Christian Martin doubled. Luis Pino plated Nickens and Martin on a single.
St. Lucie tied the game in the home fourth.
The Beach Birds offense took off in the sixth, scoring seven runs to regain the lead at 10-3. Nickens singled and advanced to second on a balk. Martin walked. Trevor Haskins was hit by a pitch. Nickens scored on a wild pitch. Luis Pino struck out on a dropped third strike and advanced to first. Martin scored. Heriberto Caraballo and Weingartner walked and Haskins scored. Gurevitch singled to plate Pino and Caraballo. Alex Birge tripled to score Weingartner and Gurevitch.
The Cardinals added a run in the eighth on a solo home run by Gurevitch. They made it 12-3 in the top of the ninth. Martin walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch, went to third on a ground out by Haskins, and scored on a sac fly by Pino.
The Cardinals scored 12 runs on nine hits. Gurevitch was 3-for-6 with four RBI and two runs scored. Pino had three RBI. Birge drove in two. Martin scored three runs. Weingartner and Nickens scored two runs.
The Cardinals are 14-5 on the season.
