The Cardinals managed to draw a little shy of 2.9M fans in ’24. My best guess is that they’ll be very fortunate to get to the 2.2M mark this season which is over 1M less fans that paid to see the team play in ’23. That’s what I’d term a very steep drop off. Call me crazy, but if something isn’t done to create the impression that an effort’s being made to bring back a little luster, it wouldn’t surprise me if paid attendance fell below 2M in ’26.

According to Juniors-Junior, we are a better roster than how we are playing.
Maybe he doesn’t know baseball beyond his indoctrination.

In 2023 we did have a better roster than the record indicated. In 2025 I think we have a better record than our roster would indicate.

What we have now is a AAAA+ roster.

Yeah, this year’s edition is the epitome of what I’d term lackluster. “Sleepy-time-time”…

Saggese fought off 2 changeups and worked a curve for a hit.

A quick glance at the standings says that the Reds, Giants and DBacks are all within 2 games of a NLWC berth. And the Mets are gasping for air in a manner that has to indicate that the 3 aforementioned teams all have a legitimate chance.

3 cut his chops during the Mo era, observing his father ride it all the way down into a pile at the bottom. All he knows is how to disintegrate a storied franchise.

Saggesse has been good every since I said he was useless.

Saggese sees two more changeups and fights them off. The 3rd one he deposits in the bullpen.

It would help if Saggese would break out vs lefties, like tonight.

Maybe I can help Walker out.

There’s only a few players I just don’t like personally. None of them are currently on the Cardinals. But I just don’t want to watch Mikolas Walker Gorman Arenado play baseball anymore. There’s a few others who are close. Im sorry, as always, the seasons about over. But I won’t miss those guys.

McGreevy with 7 shut out innings. Only struck out 6, how could that be?

When Arenado first came over from the Rockies, I thought we’d hit the jackpot and were on the way to some serious runs at flashy jewelry. He just never panned out to the sort of player I thought he’d be. He’s obviously extremely talented, but he simply never demonstrated to me that he possesses the sort of intangible and difficult to explain type of qualities that define players who somehow find a way to will their team to win big games and secure championships.

The Reds batting .120 sure hasn’t hurt.

Years from now, I’ll remember Arenado more for his defensive prowess than his offensive abilities. He’s right there with Scotty(Rolen) with the leather.

    Hat-tip to McG and Saggese.

The Mets beat the Padres so the Cardinals really victimized the Reds with tonight’s 3-0 victory. It’s getting late for any teams that are still looking up and hoping to sneak into the post-season.

Post season spoiler isn’t the role I had hoped for. But it’s pretty clear we need to settle in because our roster just isn’t close to being any thing else in 26. 27 is in doubt because of the cba. 28?
