Anyone excited for this series between the two worst teams in the NLC? We have a starter tonight who is five games under .500 at the moment, with an ERA over 5. Not too hard to see why our record is near the bottom of the NLC.
Pallante is pitching for a chance to pitch again in the rotation in 2026, I would think. Unless the Cards want to run out a losing team again, they desperately need two guys better than Pallante and Mikolas in the rotation. Gray, McGreevy and Liberatore (who I think will be better with a full off-season to build up his arm) are ok in those 2-4 slots, but we really have two guys who shouldn’t be starting big league games.
As of right now, and his on field performance not improving, Pallante as a long man in the bullpen is hopefully in the Cards (pun dintended) for 2026.
Their guy’s record is even worse than Pallante’s.
If Pallante was on the Pirates, who knows how bad his record might be? Meanwhile, Keller would be just behind Gray and Libby for the best best ERA in the Cardinal rotation.

Andre is not showing he has a starters pitches.Nice comeback win last night. Yeah, Pallante is a middle reliever who starts for us because we need someone to fill a rotation spot, and we were not gutsy enough to bring up McGreevy earlier. Now that Fedde has been jettisoned, McG took that spot and Pallante is still in the rotation.
Can Bloom upgrade the rotation next year? Or will a couple of the Memphis kids take strides and provide quality starts? We will see.
Does Pallante ever make out of the first couple of innings without giving up multiple runs! Getting ridiculous!
Well, maybe I do, but it was the Cardinals doing the hitting and scoring against the Braves in game 5 of the ’19 NLDS.
It’s never good when your starter can’t control the game. Simply have to get better rotation production next year.
Pallante back out in the fifth to save the bullpen. Gorman put the Cardinals on the board in the bottom of the fourth with a long home run. 8-2 Pirates.
Haha…That young girl’s dance of elation after getting that game ball tossed to her may be the Cardinal highlight of the season! Always nice to see the kids enjoying themselves at the game. Makes me wish I wasn’t so old and grouchy…
