Need to win this one. As I said earlier, DeGrom is going tomorrow.
And one run last night.
Like I keep saying they don’t have anybody that can hit.
And by the way, Ohtani homered at least twice last night. And Judge jacked one as well.
Corbin seems to have turned his career around to some degree. The club needs to bounce back from last night and make this a win, showing that a blowout was simply one loss and not something to be overly concerned about.
It’s too bad about Walker’s 10 day visit to the IL just when he seemed to be swinging the bat well. Let’s hope this doesn’t end up like the nagging wrist injury to Edman that required surgery.

Cards take the lead in the top of the 2nd from a Contreras walk and small ball by Contreras, Herrera, and Arenado. And wow I hate that Walker is out and the RF replacement is Alec Burleson. This man should never touch the OF grass, yet he will be out there consistently. His bat has been much better the last few weeks, but I don’t want to see him in the OF.
Does Jake Burger feel obliged to have a hamburger for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Do we think he is more of a smash burger type like Five Guys or more of a thick burger from somewhere like a pub? I’m guessing he is a thick burger type of guy
Gray’s stuff is looking sharp today. That one run may be enough for him if he can pitch deep into this one.
I’m always amused when the umpire performs what amounts to a frisk or shakedown of a pitcher when he enters a game. Gaylord would be appalled and would possibly call on assistance of the ACLU…Whatever happened to probable cause?

The Dodgers only have 3 more wins than the Cardinals. If we win and they lose it’s 2. How much $ has those 3 victories cost them?

Edit If we win and they lose, it’s 67 million perMilwaukee has been playing very good lately and is about to extend their win streak to 6 today with a 14-1 lead against the Phillies. The Cards need to keep the foot on the pedal to not only catch the Cubs, but to ensure they keep some ground ahead of the Brewers.
A fantastic start by Gray as I assume they turn it over to Maton and then Helsley to close this one out. A 7 inning start is exactly what this team needed after 3 short starts in a row, although there was an off day in there.
