May 14, 2025 at 10:39 am #282013Need a weather report from Rat to find out if there actually will be baseball in the fair city of Philadelphia today.

jj-cf-stlParticipant“Three green blob is headed north and may clear out for game time”
I channeled my ESPN to Rat and this is his reply by proxy.
May 14, 2025 at 11:22 am #282018Great……thanks JJ! I worry about how Oli will handle Game 2. After we win this first game, he cannot take his foot off the peddle for the second game. Let’s hope he’s not satisfied with taking 2-3 in the City of Brotherly Love, coupled with a 10 game win streak. That was my only complaint with the managing style of TLR. He occasionally had the propensity to take his foot off the opposing team’s throat when he had them all but swept in a series. Along the same vein, you see it all too frequently in sports, especially in the NBA and MLB. A team is totally dominant during the regular season and then the manager allots too much R&R to close out the regular season…..and then they lay an egg in the playoffs. Some players have tremendous difficulty with getting ramped back up after being layed off.
May 14, 2025 at 11:33 am #282019
jj-cf-stlParticipantHerrera likely catches game2, with Burly and Gorman starting vs Nola. Oli’s been consistent with the lineups, so much so that Barrero and Pozo are getting 1 game every 5.
With the pen he could back off, but if we won game1, and the win streak is intact…May 14, 2025 at 11:42 am #282022Given the double header, I think they actually swap plans and catch Pozo game 2. They planned for Herrera to catch one of these, but with a DH I would let him DH both and then catch him Friday after the off day.

jj-cf-stlParticipantWinn now has 48 PA’s batting second this season and a 4-digit ops to boot.
May 14, 2025 at 12:45 pm #282024
jj-cf-stlParticipantAfter 5 pitches out of 7 being on the black or better, the #9 Philly batter walks.
May 14, 2025 at 12:48 pm #282025
jj-cf-stlParticipant0-0 after 3
Fedde 44 pitches, Luzardo 43May 14, 2025 at 1:01 pm #282026
jj-cf-stlParticipantOn a 1-1 count Schwarber gets gifted a 2-1 count with a runner on 2B.
Mmm mmm mmmMay 14, 2025 at 1:25 pm #282029If they overturn this I’ll be highly surprised. And happy.
May 14, 2025 at 1:35 pm #282030Well, here’s the game.
May 14, 2025 at 1:36 pm #282031Harry Caray…”Heeee popped him up!”
May 14, 2025 at 1:47 pm #282033It’s looking like a solitary run will win this game.
May 14, 2025 at 1:47 pm #282034
jj-cf-stlParticipantA pair of 3-hitters, both scoreless after 6.
May 14, 2025 at 1:48 pm #282035Let’s push this 1 out double across.
May 14, 2025 at 1:48 pm #282036
jj-cf-stlParticipantAll we need is a hero…..
May 14, 2025 at 1:50 pm #282037Outstanding 2 out RBI from Walker for the 1-0 lead!
May 14, 2025 at 1:51 pm #282038Let’s make them pay for giving up the extra base.
May 14, 2025 at 1:54 pm #282039
jj-cf-stlParticipantLate and close again!
May 14, 2025 at 2:04 pm #282041
jj-cf-stlParticipantKeep the DP in order Jordan, you cant throw everyone out at 3B
May 14, 2025 at 2:05 pm #282042Can’t catch a break this inning.
May 14, 2025 at 2:12 pm #282043
