The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-3 on Tuesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Palm Beach RH Gerardo Salas, threw seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. Other standouts include Ross Friedrick, Edward Guribe and Yairo Padilla.

The Triple-A Redbirds fell to the Jumbo Shrimp by a 7-4 score at AutoZone Park on Tuesday. Inserted into injured Sem Robberse’s starting spot, Nick Raquet pitched five innings, gave up two runs on three hits and struck out four. Raquet took the loss, his third.
In his rehab debut from St. Louis, Nick Robertson relieved Raquet and surrendered two runs in the sixth. Connor Thomas yielded three runs in two innings pitched. Victor Santos tossed a scoreless ninth.
Memphis took a 1-0 first inning lead. Willson Contreras, also rehabbing, reached on an error. Matt Koperniak singled. Luken Baker drew a walk. César Prieto reached on an error and Contreras scored.
Jacksonville posted two runs in the fifth and added two in the sixth to increase the lead to 4-1.
The Redbirds answered with two runs in the home sixth to cut the lead to 4-3. Prieto reached on an error. Thomas Saggese and Nick Dunn singled. Nick Raposo plated Prieto and Saggese on a single.

In the eighth, Jacksonville scored three runs to widen the lead to 7-3. The Redbirds added just one run in the ninth to shrink the final score to 7-4. Koperniak doubled and later scored on a single by Saggese.
Memphis scored four runs on 13 hits. Raposo was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Saggese was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Dunn was 3-for-4. Koperniak was 2-for-5. Victor Scott II was 2-for-4.
On defense, Scott had an outfield assist at third base.
Memphis is 36-34 on the season and is in second place in the International League West, 13 games back of Omaha.

Springfield 1 at Corpus Christi 10
The Double-A Cardinals were thrashed by the Hooks in a 10-1 road loss on Tuesday. Starter Edwin Nuñez pitched 3 2/3 innings, gave up six runs on just one hit, struck out four but walked five. Nuñez suffered his fourth loss of the season.
Wilfredo Pereira surrendered four runs in three innings of relief. Benito Garcia tossed the final 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
Springfield scored their only run in the first inning. Mike Antico singled and stole second base. Jimmy Crooks singled to plate Antico.
Corpus Christi put up seven runs in the fourth inning to lead 7-1. They added three runs in seventh for a 10-1 lead.
The offense scored one run on six hits. Antico was 2-for-3 as the only Cardinal with multiple hits. The team was 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position and stranded 13 runners.
On the bases, Antico stole his 10th base of the season. Ramon Mendoza swiped his second bag.
In the final week of the first half, Springfield is 33-31, in second place in the Texas League North, falling to 2.5 games behind Arkansas.

The High-A Chiefs lost at Cedar Rapids by the score of 5-2 on Tuesday. Starter Inohan Paniagua pitched five innings, gave up three runs on five hits, struck out four and walked two. Paniagua took the loss, his fourth of the season.
Cedar Rapids took a 1-0 lead in the first, then added two in the second. Peoria got on the board in the seventh to cut the Kernels’ lead to 3-2. Won-Bin Cho singled and reigning Midwest League Player of the Week Dakota Harris followed with a two-run home run.

The Kernels put up two more runs in the eighth for a 5-2 lead.
The Chiefs scored two runs on just three hits. Cho was 2-for-4. Harris had two RBI.
On the bases, Cho was caught stealing for the fifth time. On defense, Chris Rotondo made a throwing error.
Peoria is 25-39 on the season and are in last place in the Midwest League West, 16 games back of Wisconsin.

The Low-A Cardinals blanked the Tarpons in a 4-0 road win on Tuesday. Starter Gerardo Salas pitched seven scoreless innings, allowed three hits and struck out eight to earn his third win of the season.
Benjamin Arias relieved Salas and threw a scoreless eighth. Angel Cuenca tossed a scoreless ninth.
The Beach Birds took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Trey Paige walked. Paige advanced to third on a single by Chase Davis, and then stole home. Palm Beach added a run in the second. Anyelo Encarnacion and Jose Cordoba singled. Ross Friedrick plated Encarnacion on a single.
The Cardinals put up one run in the seventh to increase the lead to 3-0. Paige singled and was eliminated in a force out by Travis Honeyman. Miguel Villarroel singled. Honeyman scored on a sac fly by Davis.
Palm Beach widened the lead to 4-0 in the eighth. Encarnacion walked and came home on a double by Friedrick.
The Beach Birds offense scored four runs on nine hits. Friedrick was 3-for-4 with two RBI.
On the bases, Paige stole his fourth base of the season. Davis swiped his fifth bag. Villarroel stole three bases.
On defense, Cordoba had an outfield assist at third base.
Palm Beach is 36-28 on the season and is tied with Jupiter for first place in the FSL East.

FCL Cardinals – Off day
The Florida Complex League Cardinals (12-18) are in fifth/last place in the East Division.

DSL Cardinals 10, DSL Nationals 4
The Dominican Cardinals walloped the Nationals in a 10-4 home blowout on Tuesday. Starter Keiverson Ramirez pitched five innings, gave up on unearned run on two hits, struck out four and walked one to earn his first win of the season.
Reiner Lopez relieved Ramirez and surrendered one run without recording an out. Giovanni Vargas threw one scoreless inning. Brailyn Paulino hurled two scoreless innings. Xavier Cruz yielded two runs in 2/3 of an inning. Bernard Mack got the final out of the ninth.
The Cardinals took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Yairo Padilla doubled. Facundo Velasquez and Rainiel Rodriguez walked. Edward Guribe plated Padilla and Velasquez on a double. Rodriguez scored on a single by Brayan Amoroso.
The Nationals put up one run in the top of the fourth. The Cardinals answered with two runs in the home fourth. Paulo Asprilla and Andru Arthur singled. Asprilla was thrown out at third. Padilla tripled to score Arthur. Padilla came home on a sac fly by Velasquez. The Cardinals led 5-1.
The Nationals added a run in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to 5-2. The Cardinals responded with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to increase the lead to 8-2. Cristofer Lebron singled but was caught stealing. Asprilla drew a walk. Arthur singled. Padilla walked. Velasquez walked and Asprilla scored. Arthur came home on a sac fly by Rodriguez. Guribe plated Padilla on a single.
The Cardinals widened their lead to 10-2 in the eighth on a two-run home run by Rodriguez. The Nationals rallied for two runs in the ninth.
The Cardinals scored 10 runs on 11 hits. Guribe was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Padilla was 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored. Velasquez had two RBI. Rodriguez drove in three.
On the bases, Lebron was caught stealing for the first time. On defense. Padilla and Lebron each made a throwing error. Velasquez had an outfield assist at first base. Yaxson Lucena had an outfield assist at second base.
The Cardinals are 5-6 for the season.
