The St. Louis Cardinals system was 3-2 on Friday. The Cardinals Nation’s Player of the Day is Springfield pitcher Tink Hence, who pitched six scoreless innings with 13 strikeouts. Other standouts include Nick Dunn, Jared Young, Won-Bin Cho, and Ross Friedrick.

The Triple-A Redbirds edged the Bulls by a score of 5-4 in Durham on Friday. Starter Adam Kloffenstein pitched 6 2/3 innings, gave up four runs on seven hits, struck out six and walked one.
Chris Roycroft relieved Kloffenstein and threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his first win this season.
Memphis took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a solo home run by Nick Dunn. They added two runs in the fourth on a two-run home run by Jared Young to increase the lead to 3-0.

Durham scored four runs in the fifth to take a 4-3 lead. The Redbirds tied it at 4-4 in the seventh. Matt Koperniak singled and later scored on a single by Dunn.
Memphis broke the tie in the eighth on a solo home run by Luken Baker.

The Redbirds scored five runs on 10 hits. Dunn and Young were each 2-for-4 with two RBI. Koperniak was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Victor Scott II was 2-for-3 with a walk.
On the bases, Young was caught stealing. On defense, Thomas Saggese made three fielding errors. Dunn had a missed catch error.
Memphis is 26-23 on the season.
Saturday’s game: at Durham, Sem Robberse RHP (5-2, 3.29) vs. Mason Montgomery LHP (0-5, 7.62) 5:35 CT.
Springfield 1, Tulsa 0 (seven innings)
The Double-A Cardinals blanked the Drillers in a 1-0 walk-off win on Friday at Hammons Field. Starter Tink Hence pitched six scoreless innings, allowed five hits, struck out 13 and walked one. The game was rain-delayed and was held to seven innings.

Matt Svanson relieved Hence and tossed a scoreless seventh to earn his first win.
This pitching duel was scoreless until the bottom of the seventh. The Cardinals plated one run to win in a walk-off. Ramon Mendoza singled to start the inning. Nathan Church pinch-ran for Mendoza. Noah Mendlinger hit a sac bunt to move Church to second base. Jeremy Rivas plated Church on a single.

The offense scored one run on six hits. Jacob Buchberger was 2-for-3.
On the bases, Bryan Torres was caught stealing. On defense, Torres made a fielding error.
Springfield is 24-19 on the season.

Peoria 4, Cedar Rapids 6The High-A Chiefs fell to the Kernels in a two-run loss at Dozer Park on Friday. Starter Quinn Mathews pitched six innings, gave up five runs on five hits, struck out seven and walked two. Mathews took the loss, his first.
Angel Cuenca relieved Mathews and surrendered one run in two innings. Gustave Rodriguez tossed a scoreless ninth.
The Chiefs went up 1-0 in the second inning. Brody Moore singled, stole second base, and scored on a single by Won-Bin Cho.

Cedar Rapids tied the game in the fourth. They added four runs in the top of the sixth to lead 5-1. Peoria made it 5-4 in the home half of the sixth. Osvaldo Tovalin and Moore singled. Leonardo Bernal plated Tovalin on a single. Moore came home on a single by Cho. Zach Levenson singled and Bernal scored.

Cedar Rapids added a sixth run in the eighth.
Peoria scored four runs on 12 hits. Cho was 3-for-4 with two RBI. Bernal was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Moore was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
On the bases, Moore stole two bases. Cho swiped his seventh bag. On defense, Alex ladisernia made a fielding error.
Peoria is 14-29 on the season.
Saturday’s game: vs Cedar Rapids, Inohan Paniagua RHP (2-3, 3.82) vs. Darren Bowen RHP (2-2, 4.61) 7:05 CT.
The Low-A Cardinals topped the Flying Tigers in a 6-5 game on Friday night. Starter Jose Davila pitched 3 2/3 innings, gave up three runs on four hits, struck out three and walked five.
Hunter Hayes relieved Davila and surrendered one run in 3 1/3 innings. Henry Gomez yielded one run in the final two innings and earned the win, his second.
Lakeland went up 1-0 in the first inning. They made it 3-0 in the fourth.
The Beach Birds put up their first run in the fifth to cut the lead to 3-1. Jose Cordoba tripled and scored on a ground out by Trey Paige. Palm Beach added a second run to make it a 3-2 score in the top of the sixth. Chase Davis singled, went to second on a wild pitch and later scored on a single by Miguel Villarroel.
The Flying Tigers extended their lead to 4-2 in the home half of the sixth. The Cardinals came back to plate a run in the seventh to shrink the lead to 4-3. Paige walked and later scored on a single by Ross Friedrick.
Palm Beach rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth to take a 6-4 lead. Cordoba tripled and scored on a single by Paige. Paige came home on a triple by Friedrick. Friedrick scored on a triple by Lizandro Espinoza.
Lakeland added one run in the bottom of the ninth to bring the final score to 6-5.
The Cardinals scored six runs on 10 hits. Friedrick was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Cordoba was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Sammy Hernandez was 2-for-4. Paige had two RBI and two runs scored.
On the bases, Paige stole his third base of the season. Hernandez was caught stealing.
Palm Beach is 25-18 on the season.

FCL Cardinals 1 at FCL Nationals 10
The Florida Complex League Cardinals were clobbered by the Nationals in a 10-1 blowout on Friday. Starter Leonel Sequera pitched four innings, gave up five runs, four earned, on six hits, struck out six and walked three. Sequera took the loss, his second.
The Cardinals scored their only run in the first inning. Yordalin Pena drew a walk. Jose Suarez singled. Pena scored on a force out by Felix Taveras.
The Nationals took a 4-1 lead in the second. They added two runs in the fifth, three runs in the sixth and one run in the seventh to increase their lead to 10-1.
The Cardinals’s offense scored one run on two hits. In addition to the Suarez single, Heriberto Caraballo also singled. The team was 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position, leaving three men on base.
On defense, Pena and Taveras each made a fielding error. Chris Lopez dropped a foul ball and also had a passed ball.
The Cardinals are 8-8 on the season.
