Way too early to put much emphasis on a series, but this one is a little more important than a typical early season set. Get swept and the sense is we may be out of it before April ends. Drop two and it is sort of ho-hum, same team as last year.
Take two or especially sweep, and the confidence jumps and the feeling is this club is going to be tough once all the pieces are in place.
My prediction is we will lose two of three. Only the Son y game will be a winner.
Oh, and Gorman doesn’t bother me nearly as much as Scott. Scott is sort of a position player version of Jordan Hicks – the organization is not bringing him along like they should. Hopefully Victor comes along in the minors and learns to use his speed there, and is prepared once he is back in the bigs. For now, management just lets him flounder with apparently no cause for alarm.
