The Scottsdale Scorpions lost to the Salt River Rafters on Friday as three Cardinals played. TCN Player of the Day Victor Scott went 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two steals, two RBI and a run scored. Jeremy Rivas went 2-for-3 and scored twice. Edwin Nunez allowed a run in two innings.

Scottsdale Scorpions 5, Salt River Rafters 6
Three St. Louis Cardinals saw action in the Scorpions win over the Rafters. Victor Scott and Jeremy Rivas started in the field. Edwin Nunez pitched the final two innings.
Center fielder Scott led off and was 3-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and a run scored. In his first at-bat, Scott struck out. In the third, he singled and drove in a run, then stole a base but was caught stealing home.
Scott launched a solo home run in the fifth inning. He laid down a bunt single in the seventh and stole second but was left stranded.

Jeremy Rivas was the shortstop and hit ninth. He was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. In his first appearance at the plate in the third inning, Rivas tripled and scored on a single by Scott. In the fifth, Rivas flied out to center field.
Rivas drew a walk in the seventh and later scored on a wild pitch. In the ninth, Rivas grounded into a double play to end the game.
Edwin Nunez pitched in relief. He threw the final two innings of the game and gave up one run on one hit. The run was the final score for Salt River as Nunez took the loss.
Scottsdale is 12-9 on the season and is in second place, one game back of the Surprise Saguaros.
