    Season series tied at 4-4.

Can still shoot to best the Brewers with 5 more to play against them.

I’m all for whipping up on the Brewers, just so long as we don’t do the Cubs any favors.

We have the starter ERA advantage. This one is in the bag.

The tarp is on the field as of 3:30

Minnesota does the Cubs, Marlins, DBacks, and Giants a favor today. They plate three runs in the 9th and down the Reds 5-3 at Riverfront.

And Arenado is not going to get to 30 dongs and 100 rbis this year. Unless he goes on a tear the last ten days. Then again, he’s not done much the last month so he has nobody to blame but himself.

Bling is right on top of things about the tarp being on the field. But the Doppler Radar seems to indicate the rain will be out of the St. Louis area in the next hour or so. I assume this game gets played.

Thank you for saying that CIF. I always factor that into my calculations as well. The Brewers have a 6 game lead with 11 games remaining so they should be able to hold the Cubs off. I think the Phillies are in good shape for a wild card spot and I am hoping the Diamondbacks and Marlins can get in and send the Cubs home for the winter.

The Cubbies had a chance a couple of weeks ago, but it’s now become too late in the day to catch the Brewers. At this stage all they can do is close ranks and hope to sneak in as a WC. And since they’re the Cubbies, there’s more than a decent chance that they’ll squander a WC berth and play their last game of the season on the same day as the Cardinals. Oh my goodness…Did I just compare the Cardinals with the Cubbies? Sad day for 1TD…

Looked it all over today. Phillie looks like a shoe in. 2 nd wildcard is the big race this year. Cuba,Cincy, Miami and Diamondbacks are the contenders. All fairly close to each other. We’re looking like spring training again tonight but thats ok with me. Would love to see Walker have a good night tonight!

Cards trail 5-2 in the 9th. Milwaukee with a rally going.

    Another one bites the dust……

There is no one to be looked at above Barnes and Lawrence? Is there no better use of these innings?

Now it’s 8-2 Brewers heading to the last of the 9th.

Cubs trail 11-7 in the top of the 8th at Wrigley against the Pirates.

“Is there no better use of these innings?”

No, down at Memphis, your best relievers left are:
    – 30 year-old James Naile
    – 27 year-old Dalton Roach
    – 31 year-old Andrew Suarez

Naile has an 8.80 ERA for the Cardinals this year, and Suarez has an 8.50 ERA for the Cardinals.

Cardinals are going to have to find a backup shortstop to Edman this offseason, because Winn will not be with the Cardinals out of spring training.

That ended badly. Might as well let the prospects close. Somebody needs to work with Winn on getting the ball out of the infield.Hes hitting it just not getting under it.

2nd and 3rd wildcards are up for grabs. Three wildcards per league.
