The St. Louis Cardinals system went 2-2 on Sunday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Springfield’s Mike Antico, was a triple away from the cycle with an RBI, three runs and a stolen base. Other standouts include Logan Gragg, Alex Cornwell, Thomas Francisco and Won-Bin Cho.

The Memphis Redbirds (49-47) topped the Charlotte Knights (CWS, 38-57) on Sunday night at Truist Field.
Logan Gragg gave up an unearned run in seven innings pitched. The right-hander yielded three hits, one walk and four strikeouts to earn his third Triple-A win.
In the first inning, Luken Baker brought across a run via single. Baker plated two in the third with a single. Matt Koperniak recorded a single with the bases loaded in the seventh. Nick Dunn blasted a solo home run in the eighth, his first for Memphis.

Out of the bullpen, Chris Roycroft tossed two scoreless frames with two punchouts.
Baker went 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBI. Richie Palacios singled, doubled, walked and came across twice. The lineup had nine hits and five walks.
On the base paths, Palacios and Chase Pinder both stole a bag. Baker committed a fielding error.
The Redbirds went 5-1 against Charlotte this week. They are 12 games back of first in the International League West.

The Springfield Cardinals (10-11) edged the Arkansas Travelers (SEA, 12-8) at Hammons Field on Sunday.
Starter Alex Cornwell pitched five scoreless innings with one hit and a walk. TCN’s no. 37 prospect struck out four.
The Cardinals struck in the first inning as Chandler Redmond doubled to score one. Pedro Pagés’ RBI single in the third made the score 2-0. The Travelers took the lead in the sixth.
The relief corps struggled in the sixth and seventh as Roy Garcia gave up four runs in 1/3 of an inning and Bryan Pope surrendered two runs in 1 2/3 innings. Jose Martinez threw a scoreless eighth. Andre Granillo saved his 11th game of the year despite yielding a run in the ninth.
Arkansas scored four runs in the sixth, but the Cardinals partially answered with a run in the bottom half on Irving Lopez’ RBI single. The Travelers plated two in the seventh, but Springfield responded in the home half with five runs. Mike Antico blasted a solo home run, his 11th of the year. Arquímedes Gamboa and Lopez each walked with the bases loaded and Errol Robinson added a run with a single.

Antico was a triple shy of the cycle with four hits, three runs and one RBI. Gamboa went 2-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored. Every starter in the lineup except Jacob Buchberger recorded a hit.
Noah Mendlinger had an outfield assist in right field. Antico took his 31st bag of the season.
The Cardinals are in third place in the Texas League North after a 3-3 week against Arkansas.

The Peoria Chiefs (13-11) were walked off by the Cedar Rapids Kernels (MIN, 16-8) on Sunday afternoon at PG Cares Field.
Inohan Paniagua surrendered two runs in 3 1/3 innings on two hits and two walks. TCN’s no. 22 prospect struck out five. Edgar Manzo fanned one in 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
In the third inning, Darlin Moquete was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The Kernels took a 4-1 lead but the Chiefs recaptured the lead in the eighth. Coming off the bench, Thomas Francisco hit a grand slam to make the score 6-4. Ramon Mendoza added an insurance run via solo home run in the ninth.

Again, the bullpen faltered. Gustavo Rodriguez gave up two runs on three hits, three walks and three punchouts in two innings. Jack Ralston took his first loss after he was touched for three runs, two earned, in 1 1/3 frames. Edwin Nunez was on the mound for the Kernels walk-off with a hit by pitch and single but Ralston was charged with the runs.
The lineup recorded six hits and six walks but left eight runners on base. Carlos Linarez had the only multi-hit game with two. Francisco and Mendoza homered and Francisco Hernandez walked twice.
On the base paths, Alex Iadisernia took a bag. Hernandez committed a fielding error.
After winning the first game of the series, Peoria dropped the following five contests. They have fallen to three games out of first in the Midwest League West.

On Sunday, the Palm Beach Cardinals (7-15) fell to the St. Lucie Mets (NYM, 8-16) playing as the home team at Clover Park.
Starter Jose Davila yielded five runs on five hits and one walk in 5 2/3 frames. The 20-year-old struck out five and took his second loss. In relief, Jack Lynch surrendered a run in 1/3 of an inning.
The Beach Birds scored two runs in the first inning. Michael Curialle doubled to plate one and came across on a wild pitch. Chase Davis recorded his first professional hit, a single, to bring across one run. After the Mets took an 8-2 lead in the seventh, Chris Rotondo brought across a run in the seventh via sacrifice fly.
The pen struggles continued. In 2/3 of an inning, Benjamin Arias gave up two runs. Augusto Calderon was touched for two runs on a hit, three walks and one strikeout in 1 1/3 frames. Henry Gomez fanned three in the ninth but allowed two runs, one earned, on one hit.
In the eighth, the Cardinals put up four runs. William Sullivan walked with the bases loaded. Davis and Tre Richardson scored on errors. The Cardinals attempted a final comeback in the ninth inning. Joshua Baez doubled to bring one across and Brayden Jobert made it 12-10 with a sacrifice fly. But the rally ended there.
Won-Bin Cho was 3-for-4 with a triple, two singles and two runs. Curialle, Davis and Baez recorded two hits apiece. Curialle went 2-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and three runs scored. The lineup went 3-for-12 with runners in scoring position.
On the base paths, Richardson took his first professional base. In the field, Gomez committed a fielding error.
Palm Beach went 4-2 versus the Mets this week and are four games out of first in the Florida State League East.
