Saw where our top pick is expected to sign today for way over slot to 6 million plus. Is this correct and a big WHY??

I suspect the problem began with this tweet. The MLB beat writer picked a bad time for a case of dyslexia, typing $6.3 MM instead of $3.6 MM. I am really surprised it was not corrected as the difference is non-trivial. (In reality, $6.3+ MM was the team’s entire pool!)
