The St. Louis Cardinals system was 1-3 on Tuesday, including two 10-inning losses. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, LF Alex ladisernia, was 2-for-5 including a two-run home run in Palm Beach’s win. Other standouts include Moises Gomez and Pedro Pages.

Memphis 4, Gwinnett 5 (10 innings)
The Memphis Redbirds lost a tough one against Gwinnett on Tuesday night at AutoZone Park. Starter Tommy Parsons pitched five innings, gave up two runs on four hits, struck out four and walked five.
Kyle Leahy relieved Parsons, but after he threw two pitches, the game was halted. After a lengthy rain delay, Leahy did not return. Ryan Loutos surrendered one run in the sixth. Grant Black tossed two scoreless innings. Kodi Whitley pitched a clean ninth, but relinquished two runs, one earned, in the top of the 10th and took the loss.
The Stripers took the lead 1-0 in the first inning. Gwinnett added to the lead with one run in the fourth. Memphis scored their first run in the fifth. Taylor Motter doubled, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a ground out by Ivan Herrera.
The Stripers increased the lead to 3-1 in the sixth. In the seventh, Moises Gomez blasted a two-run home run to tie the game at 3-3. It was the outfielder’s sixth of the year, but fifth in the last 10 days.

The score remained tied through nine innings. In the 10th, Gwinnett pushed across two runs to regain the lead 5-3. In the home half of the 10th, the Redbirds put one run on the board but no more. The inning began with Gomez on second base. Jordan Walker was hit by a pitch. Luken Baker grounded into a force out and Gomez scored on a throwing error to first base.
Herrera went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Walker was 2-for-4. Gomez had two RBI. The Memphis offense was 0-for-14 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.
Memphis is 24-16 on the season and is in first place in the International League West by a half game over Iowa.
Wednesday’s game: vs. Gwinnett, LHP Zack Thompson (0-0, 7.71) vs. Michael Soroka RHP (0-2, 5.47) 12:05 CT.
Springfield 9 at NW Arkansas 10 (10 innings)
The Springfield Cardinals were topped by the Naturals in a 10-inning slugfest on Tuesday. Starter Kenny Hernandez pitched just two innings, gave up seven runs, six earned, on six hits, struck one and walked four.
Jose Martinez surrendered one unearned run in four innings of relief. Nick Trogrlic-Iverson threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Andre Granillo tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Logan Sawyer allowed two runs in the 10th and took the loss, his first of the season.
The Naturals took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The Cardinals cut the lead to 3-1 in the top of the second. Jacob Buchberger walked and later scored on a single by Arquimedes Gamboa.
NW Arkansas widened the lead with four runs in the home half of the second and one run in the third. Springfield made it 8-2 on a bases loaded walk by Matt Koperniak in the fourth.
The Cardinals added four runs in the sixth. L.J. Jones singled to begin the inning. Gamboa reached on an error. Justin Toerner walked. Mike Antico was hit by a pitch and Jones came home. Gamboa scored on a sac fly by Koperniak. Pedro Pages plated Toerner on a single. Chandler Redmond singled and Antico scored.
Springfield tied the game with two runs in the eighth on singles by Buchberger and Nick Dunn. They took the lead 9-8 in the top of the 10th when Antico came home on a fielding error. The Naturals rallied in the home half of the 10th to score two and win the game in a walk off.
Pages was 4-for-6 with an RBI. Redmond was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Dunn was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Jones was 2-for-5. Koperniak had two RBI.
On the base paths, Koperniak and Gamboa each stole a base. Dunn made two fielding errors and Antico also had a fielding miscue.
Springfield is 14-20 on the season and is in last place in the Texas League North, 8.5 games back of Arkansas.
Wednesday’s game: at NW Arkansas, RHP Connor Lunn (0-3, 7.61) vs. RHP Jonathan Bowlan (0-2, 12.54) 7:05 CT.
The Peoria Chiefs were edged by the Kernels in a one run road loss on Tuesday. Starter Cooper Hjerpe pitched a career-high six innings, gave up two runs on three hits, struck out six and walked three. Hjerpe took the loss.
Andrew Marrero relieved Hjerpe and surrendered four runs, two earned, in 2/3 innings. Chris Gerard threw the final 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
Cedar Rapids took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Peoria cut the lead to 2-1 in the fourth. Jeremy Rivas doubled to start the inning and later scored on a single by Brody Moore.
The Kernels put up four runs in the seventh to widen the lead to 6-1. The Chiefs fought back with two runs in the eighth on a double by Rivas and a single by Jimmy Crooks.
Peoria continued to rally in the ninth, with two more runs, but fell short. Luis Rodriguez and Tyler Reichenborn singled. Rodriguez scored on a single by Nathan Church. Reichenborn and Church advanced on a wild pitch. Reichenborn came in on a ground out by Victor Scott II.
Church was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Rivas was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Rodriguez and Reichenborn were 2-for-4.
On the base paths, Scott stole his 27th base of the season. Crooks was caught stealing twice and picked off first base.
In the field, Church made a fielding error.
Peoria is 18-16 on the season and is in fourth place in the Midwest League West, 2.5 games back of Beloit.
Wednesday’s game: at Cedar Rapids, Trent Baker RHP (2-2, 3.03) vs. Pierson Ohl RHP (2-2, 2.77) 12:05 CT.
The Palm Beach Cardinals defeated the Mets in an 8-6 road win on Tuesday. Starter Max Rajcic pitched five innings, gave up two runs on three hits, struck out six and walked three to earn his fourth win of the season.
Tanner Jacobson surrendered two runs in two innings of relief. Edwin Nunez relinquished two runs in the final two innings.
The Beach Birds scored two in the first inning. Chris Rotondo walked but was eliminated on a force out by Alex ladisernia. R.J. Yeager walked. Michael Curialle doubled and ladisernia scored. Yeager came in on a single by Leonardo Bernal.
Palm Beach added three runs in the second on a triple by Rotondo and a two-run home run by ladisernia. Solo home runs by Darlin Moquete and Joshua Baez made it 7-0.
The Mets cut the lead to 7-2 in the home half of the third. In the seventh St. Lucie made it 7-4, then 7-5 in the eighth.
The Cardinals scored one run in the ninth for the final score of 8-6.
ladisernia was 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Curialle was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Yeager was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
On the base paths, Bernal, Moquete, and ladisernia each stole a base. Curialle was picked off first base.
In the field, Yeager made a throwing error, Baez and Moquete each had a fielding miscue. Bernal had a passed ball.
Palm Beach is 21-13 on the season and is in first place in the FSL East.
