Ok posters, just want to see what you guys think. When do you think the 2022 season will get underway? Please cast your vote for one of the following:

Owners would clearly like the date around May 1 where they’d get max TV revenues and minimum player pay. I could see the players digging in out of principle on that. If that happens, we could seen the entire season go up in smoke.
Officially I’ll vote May 1, but I think the next most likely option is no season.
Players are on a mission to take the billionaire owners down a notch, or two. And they have almost no overhead to worry about because the millionaire players already have plenty of money to cover their living costs, and the players who have not yet become rich are still living with their parents for the most part. The players can wait it out for as long as they want. The owners do have a substantial overhead and are surely losing money already. But I think some of the owners are going to have a very hard time understanding why they should appropriate more money for the players. Some of the owners claim they are losing money and that they are paying their bills with money borrowed against the value of their constantly appreciating franchise. My guess is that they might be fudging a little about their balance sheets, but they are not outright lying about it. If they truly are losing money, then it makes little sense for them to agree to a CBA that loses them even more money.
Historically, when the players have gone on strike/lockout, the owners eventually give in, and the players ‘win’. I see that as a possibility, and if it happens, I’ll guess that the season starts by May 1 (or thereabouts). If the season does not start by May 1, then I think there will be no season.
I’m going to say that there will be no season.
No deal today. Tom Verducci said he expected a deal to be done today. But it wasn’t.
I am starting to think there might be no 2022 season.
Surely that couldn’t happen though – could it?
It appears the International issue has been resolved.
Could we have an agreement later today? Tomorrow? Or perhaps by the weekend?
And training camps open next Monday, March 14th?
And games start on April 14th?
