Might be time to demote Zack Thompson to Springfield

Any chance we see Nootbaar get the call up this season?

Would love to see it, GAC. Anyone hear of the extent of Nootbaar’s injury? Palm Beach is handing it to Bradenton this evening 5-1 in the bottom of the 7th. Masyn Winn and Jacob Buchberger have 2 hits apiece….and speaking of 2 hits, Bowen of Bradenton has 2 hits too….one hbp to the left calf and the other to his left shoulder blade.

Unbelievable, BHC. Thompson must feel totally shell shocked. 9 hits and 2 walks in 1 1/3 innings?

It looks like the push to Triple A was perhaps too big of a push for Thompson.

Agree, BHC. He needed some time to work his way up the ladder. Adjusting and developing at each level. Hope this doesn’t set him back too much.

Nootbaar and Burleson just may help some day with the OF problem.

Yep, I have been saying all along that Liberatore and Thompson should have been assigned to Springfield.

At least Liberatore had some professional game experience in 2018 and 2019.

Thompson did pitch at Palm Beach in 2019, a level above Liberatore pitched in.

Burleson’s hitting is very encouraging. I was really intrigued when we drafted him and early returns are good. Seems like a guy who fit the polished hitter mold in college and is realizing some power early in his professional career.

Sad to see Jordan Walker on IL. Was having a great time following him. Apparently he hit a ground out 117 mph a few weeks ago, which was harder than the hardest hit ball in the majors at the time.

Has anyone seen any Springfield games? Nick Plummer has a great line and wondering if he looks the part. Would be huge to get some value out of an old first rounder who seemed like he would never do much.

My apologies, BHC. Thompson did have 15 1/3 innings of pro game experience before the Cardinals placed him at AAA.
