Already the recipient of the 2011 National League Championship Series and World Series Most Valuable Player Awards, St. Louis Cardinals third baseman David Freese added another such recognition Saturday night in New York.
The New York chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) bestowed The Babe Ruth Award upon Freese. The award is given annually to the Major League Baseball player with the best performance in the postseason. It was created in honor of New York Yankees Hall of Famer Babe Ruth in 1949.
In the following clip, posted by MLB.com, Freese accepts his newest award after having been introduced by Yankees general manager Brian Cashman.
