Funny about Miller Time. That probably never would have happened when A-B owned the team. To this day, Mike Shannon refuses to say on-air the formal names of the Milwaukee and Colorado stadiums. Ever.
John Brebbia is the only player on the #stlcards roster without a nickname on his jersey. He said he doesn’t have one. I suggested “Brebs,” and he said “no one calls me that except my family.”
Tommy Edman wanted “Agent Scarn” on his jersey (@anne__rogers had that in her Players’ Weekend piece) but there was a copyright issue. He said he wanted to hit a HR and then do The Scarn around the bases. Said he’d work on it for next year. #stlcards
Last year the Cards were out here for Player’s weekend, andI went to a game. Tyler O’Neill was the only Cardinal without a nickname.
That was when Carpenter was still mashing, and he tied a record, no doubt held by many, hitting four doubles. He hit two in the first inning alone as the Cards exploded for 6 before the home ball club came to bat.
