Ira is not just Mrs. Bill DeWitt III

Over on the main site, TheCardinalNation.com, I have been running a four-part series of articles for subscribers recapping remarks from the president of the St. Louis Cardinals, Bill DeWitt III, as they relate to various aspects of the team’s finances. It is not surprising that the son of the club’s principal owner and chairman totes a Harvard MBA in his educational kit bag.

Just by chance, I ran across a reference to DeWitt III’s wife that I thought was too interesting to let pass without noting. In addition to being the mother of a 13-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son, Ira DeWitt does more than just hang out at their local country club. She is an active businesswoman – but not in the way you might think.

A native of Istanbul, Turkey of Armenian descent, she is the president and co-founder of Notifi Records, an urban music label featuring R&B artists Ginuwine, Johnny Gill and Bos. Ira has educational cred as well, having earned a PhD in education and psychology from St. Louis University after living in Canada in her earlier years.

You can read about Ira DeWitt’s successes in the music business at the Notifi Records website.
