5 with the Pirates and 3 with the Royals. This is the make or break part of the season. Under normal circumstances, you would expect the Cards to go 6-2 or 5-3 at worst. But this team looks very tired. Not sure what can be done, but they need to snap out of it with the Reds suddenly getting hot. Like I said before, 2nd in the central or the #1 Wild Card is the ticket.
Bader’s 105 wRC+ is roughly equivalent to each of Ozuna’s two years in St Louis (107 and 109). He’s not much of a problem. O’Neill is. His .208 BABIP is still unsustainably low, but we’re close enough to season’s end that results are needed. No one in the OF is getting it done, and the infield has begun to cool off as well.
September 16, 2020 at 8:49 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140437The Cards have scored 2, 0, 3, 1 and now 0 runs in Oviedo’s five starts. Talk about no support at all.
September 16, 2020 at 8:47 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140435Oviedo with a bad first and last inning, but he ate some innings and saved the bullpen in the middle. With the putrid offense, he wasn’t going to win no matter what but he did ok for his first start back.
September 16, 2020 at 8:38 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140432Man, Luke Voit. There’s a guy the Cardinals missed on. You wonder what the coaches did not see in him.
I’m pretty sure that someone here (bccran maybe?) was on the Luke Voit train. I think the trade for Gallegos was a good one for both teams.
September 16, 2020 at 7:54 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140425Oviedo clearly was not fully ready to come back. He just about took Hiura’s head off.
September 16, 2020 at 7:49 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140423Here we go with this gigantic zone again. These umps need to be sent home after this series. That was clearly a call after the catcher whined about the call he didn’t get.

September 16, 2020 at 7:45 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140420Dejong looked awful that at bat. Let the good pitches go and swung at the junk balls. It’s like the Cards think they can get the 4 run homer with one man on base.
September 16, 2020 at 7:34 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140418Heck of a play by Paul Dejong there.
September 16, 2020 at 7:30 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140417Our lineup feels like it has multiple automatic outs this year no matter what lineup you throw out there. We really miss Dexter Fowler and having some semblance of Matt Carpenter show up.
September 16, 2020 at 7:22 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #14041528 pitches in the first for Oviedo and he trails 4-0. Gonna have to outslug the Brewers in this one, looks like.
September 16, 2020 at 7:18 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140412Wieters looks like a high school catcher back there. Knizner can’t possibly be worse with the glove or the bat, can he?
September 16, 2020 at 7:17 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140411DH Miller drops the pop up after over running the ball. Sigh
September 16, 2020 at 7:16 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140410Well, this is not the start we needed. Should have saved that bean ball for that piece of excrement Braun.
September 16, 2020 at 6:51 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #45 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 2) #140406Miller at 3B. I guess they must not like Oviedo very much.
September 16, 2020 at 6:14 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #44 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 1) #140396Waino got the last 7 out in a row, with 9 strikeouts overall. What a game! Now let’s see Oviedo show another big man effort in game 2.
September 16, 2020 at 6:13 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #44 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 1) #140395Man, Waino really delivered exactly when we needed it. Great to get the win and settle things down a bit.
September 16, 2020 at 6:00 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #44 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 1) #140393Waino through 6 and maintains the 4-2 lead. I’m sure he will come back out for the 7th and stay there unless he gets in trouble.

September 16, 2020 at 5:15 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #44 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 1) #140374O’Neill with the sac fly. Nicely done there. 2-2.
September 16, 2020 at 5:14 pm in reply to: 2020 Cardinals Game #44 – Wed, Sept. 16 at Brewers (DH Game 1) #140372Carp swung at an easy ball 4 and couldn’t drive the run in. Now up to O’Neill to try to get the run home.
