ABSOLUTELY need to win two of three this series against Miami. Especially considering after this Miami series we have 14 games with the Phillies, Braves, and Dodgers. 7-7 in those 14 games would be acceptable. Philadelphia might not be so daunting now that Harper is, unfortunately, out indefinitely.
And not to worry too much about the loss to the Cubs on Sunday. Its one game out of 162. Time to move on and regroup and take care of business against the Marlins. Which might not be so easy with their pitching.

I don’t care what anybody says…..Arenado is pitiful as a clutch hitter. After Goldy grounded out I knew we were done.
Met with my disabled vet/mentally handicapped buddy at the Amish restaurant. That woman was not with him, which didn’t surprise me. I tried to talk him out of selling his house since I know he will blow the money on that woman.
Anyway, I made it back in time to see the Goldschmidt walk and Arenado single. And how about poor Bryce Harper? That’s a big OUCH! in more ways than one.
Time to light up a cigar and sit on the couch with Whitey Herdog for the rest of this one.

Remember the 1st time we faced this guy it was Cy Swarmer. I expect us to pound on him in this one.
I might miss the first couple of innings. Meeting with some former co-workers at the Amish restaurant at 1:00 tomorrow (noon St. Louis time). One of them is a disabled vet who is mentally messed up and has a woman fleecing him out of all his money. $750,000 to date. This woman might be with him tomorrow at the restaurant. I hope I can keep my mouth shut since he thinks she cares about him. Then again, maybe I should’t keep my mouth shut.

5-3 St. Louis your happy final. Brewers way ahead of Toronto so it looks like we shall remain tied.

And, on a good note last night, at least we didn’t lose any ground. Milwaukee lost to Toronto 9-4 at County Stadium. And yes, Front Row Amy was in attendance last night.
That lineup needs to be changed. Donovan and Gorman need to switch places. And even though the announcers were talking last night about how great Yepez is I will believe it when I see it.
Din-din today will be a ribeye steak in the air fryer, some jumbo crinkle cut french fries, a Mt. Dew, and a piece of Banana Cream pie from the Amish restaurant. All about the time of 1st pitch in this one. Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch along with a 7×50 Palma Real cigar.

Happ doubles into leftcenter. 3-0 Cubs now. 2nd and 3rd, one out. Maddux to the mound. This one is about to get blown open.
On a good note…..Toronto leads Milwaukee 5-0 in the 3rd at County Stadium. No word on whether Front Row Amy is in attendance.
Cubs were on the verge of having a big inning in the top of the 4th. Two on, one out, 3-0 on the batter. But Pallante came back and got him on a flyball to RF and then Haywood Hale Brune flied to Bader in center.
2-0 Cubs heading to the last of the 4th. Top of the order due up for the Redbirds.
Cubs get two on and one out in the 3rd but Happ bounces into a 643 DP and that’s that.

5-4 Brewers heading to the last of the 8th. I am more than happy to get a split out of this series and be tied for 1st place. Hopefully we can take care of business this weekend against the Cubs and win at least two of the three.

Yepez is playing LF again???
Jeepers, he’s flubbed two flyballs in the last week. Flyballs that a good high school player could catch. Let’s hope Kenny Hudson can make pitches to keep the Brewers from hitting any flyballs to Yepez.
I will probably miss the first 2-3 innings as I will be out on the John Deere mowing the yard. Then later tonight I am planning on attending my first Dubois County Bombers summer league game tonight down at League Stadium in Huntingburg. “There’s no crying in baseball!” – Tom Hanks

Edit: I agree gscottar. Gorman and Donovan should be flipped in the lineup.
I am anxious to see how Gorman looks against the lefty. I don’t mean how many homeruns or hits he gets against the lefty. I mean I am anxious to see how he handles himself against the lefty.
Sure hope Front Row Amy is in attendance tonight. She wasnt there last night and me and Whitey Herdog were forced to watch the game.

It’s a good thing you guys don’t have to listen to Sadak and Larkin, and Brantley, the Reds announcers. They are HORRIFIC!
If Gorman cannot hit lefties, at the age of 22, he should NOT be in the big leagues. He should be somewhere working on hitting lefties.
Just like some of our pitchers. If they cannot throw the ball over the plate they should not be in the big leagues. They should be somewhere working on this. Like Rosenthal, Reyes, Hicks.
I assume Pujols will be in the lineup tonight against the lefty. I hope Goldschmidt is ready to go as well. And when might we see Gorman hit against a lefty? If he cannot hit lefties I am not sure the big leagues is the place for him right now.
Din-din today is the weekly trip to the Gasthof, the Amish restaurant. Fried chicken, fish, roast beef, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, sweet potatoes, some cherry cobbler, sweet tea, and some chocolate soft serve ice cream.
